"Without Smoking Gun" is a book by Kent Heiner that lays out the story of Lieutenant Commander William B. Pitzer, USN. Pitzer was a photographer at the National Naval Medical Center (aka: Bethesda) who was alleged to have not only photographs of the autopsy of President Kennedy, but had videotape of the actual autopsy as it occurred. Pitzer was found dead of a supposedly self-inflicted gunshot wound in his office in Bethesda in 1966, and the rumored photographs and videotapes have never been located. Theorists will absolutely love this book - it's got everything! Supposedly the CIA asked a Green Beret Captain named Dan Marvin to assassinate Pitzer because he (Pitzer) was about to go public with the photographs and videotape. From that, Heiner delves into a clandestine world that includes the Nugan Hand Bank, Hmong heroin/opium smuggling, Richard Secord, Oliver North, and a host of other characters. Drug smuggling, money laundering, political assassination, extra-marital affairs, and murder... all in only 120 pages! Who could ask for more?
