Boy Scouts of America Opt to Destroy Themselves

In a stunning display of IDIOCY,DUPLICITY,and UTTER BETRAYAL, the 1,400+ voting members of the leadership council of the Boy Scouts of America, voted to allow openly gay scouts to join the longtime organization.

Despite a nonstop barrage of scout parents, and scouts, deriding the entire idea as CONTRARY to the SCOUT OATH, the current leadership opted to go down in history, as the "Quislings" who allowed the Militant Gay movement to DESTROY the BSA.

MASSIVE resignations are expected,and virtually GUARANTEED,as parents and scouts alike eschew the idea of "sharing tents" with someone who views their gender as sexually compatible.

Within a few YEARS, or maybe even MONTHS, the Boys Scouts of America will become a SHADOW of their former selves.

The troop leader at my eldest grandson's troop, emailed me this morning, after the vote results became public,and informed me that of 43 scouts and Venture scouts in our troop, 35 had already emailed resignations..THIS AM.

I expect that to be the NORM, not the exception, in addition to the fact that many troops might be looking for new homes/sponsors, as the churches which sponsor the MAJORITY of US Boy Scout Troops, will not allow them to stay on, in open violation of church tenets and policies.


Boy Scouts of America vote ends long-standing ban on gay scouts


GRAPEVINE, Texas (Reuters) - The Boy Scouts of America voted on Thursday to lift a ban on openly gay scouts that had been in place throughout the organization's 103-year history, capping weeks of intense lobbying on both sides, the group said in a statement.


About 70 percent of the group's 100,000 Boy Scout units are chartered by faith-based organizations, according to Boy Scouts membership data. Some 22 percent of the units nationwide are chartered by civic organizations, and 7 percent are chartered by educational groups.

While national polls show a growing acceptance of gay rights, an online survey of about 200,000 BSA members, parents and leaders indicated strong support for maintaining the ban, by a margin of almost 2-1.

"The Boy Scouts are not listening to us," said John Stemberger, an Orlando lawyer, Eagle Scout, former scoutmaster and founder of an organization that opposes lifting the ban.

Seems they caved under the pressure of the gay as normative behavior lobby. As I understand it, scout leaders still can't be openly gay...so it's a compromise of sorts..

The gay rights groups say the fight for openly gay troop leaders is far from over.
The first 17 year old openly gay scout that say he wants to be a troop leader when he is old enough will spark a whole new round of lawsuits.

Needs to be no outrage.
Every parent that does not agree with the organizations leadership should pull thier support and children. Now.

Besides the new Gay Scout Cookies, there will be a (w)hole new series of merit badges for buggery. Exciting week long seminars on porking with pig tripe, good use of muskrat oil and games like bury the tent pole.

 

There is already an alternative Scout group starting up, in anticipation of this BETRAYAL of the Founding Principles of the BSA.

 

And apparently according to you and a huge number of other members, hating gays is more important than helping kids.

 

They are still free to do whatever they wish. As an assistant troop leader how are you impacted? Are you so homophobic that having a gay kid in your troop would cause you problems?

 

I hope they never approve gay troop leaders. This recent decision will not really affect many people. I don't think there are a lot of 8-13 year old boys having gay sex. In fact, I doubt any are having straight sex so it's a non issue.

The gay troop leaders is the cause for concern. Yes, the BSA will see a decrease in membership and will probably track like Canada where membership dropped 67%

But, the militant gays get to add one more cherished organization beneath their boots. It's really pathetic that we've allowed a narrative that how you have sex should be a civil rights issue

 

Of course they should. That is entirely their decision. Freedom all around makes me happy.

 

Because the alternative is would be to deny entrance to an organization based upon a decision that has nothing whatsoever to do with anyone but the person engaging in said activity.

I find comfort in the fact that folks who are opposed to equality will be viewed in the same historical light as those who opposed the rights of women and minorities, enjoy your rapid decent into irrelevance =)

The BSA doesn't seem to know or care where it's bread is buttered.

As others have said of the BSA, it's a private institution and is free to make their own decisions on it....but IMO this was the wrong decision for them to make. Many of these sponsors may now find the BSA to not be compatible with their belief systems, and pull their support. This will hurt the BSA and all the kids who are part of it.
All to satisfy a group so statistically small as to be unworthy of notice.

I got out of scouting because it was boring to me.
But no one at any time ever spoke about religion to me while I was in.
Just many looked at me funny when I said we needed a surfing merit badge. Frekin' northerners.

 

The underlying insinuation being that a person chooses to have an interest in the same sex. I can't remember when I decided to like females, do you?

Regardless, I'm absolutely fine with whomever my child chooses to love, it's their life, not mine and any person with any compassion would feel exactly the same.

 

Well the poster I was responding to has made previous claims on this forum over creationism. So if we are concerned about gays converting young Americans, then I have the same concerns regarding them being converted to creationism
