There is a brave Christian man who is currently filing a lawsuit against PayPal, because of his religious and political beliefs. The man was simply trying to send money to support a pro-family cause, and PayPal shut down his account, and is holding his money ransom for 180 days. They claim that it's because he was posting "hateful" speech, when all he was doing was simply expressing his peaceful disagreement with homosexuality! THIS MUST STOP. All Americans have a Right to Free Speech. Whether you agree with what is said or not, it is still that person's right to say what they want, and express their opinions. (I know I'll be grilled for this, but like it or not, that's the way it is.) If you don't believe me, here's the link. See for yourself: http://www.wnd.com/?pageId=346825
Julio Severo's blog. http://www.lastdayswatchman.blogspot.com/ Write him a message of support. Free speech must be protected at all costs. Paypal disgusts me. I will never use it now.
It's too bad you don't understand free speech. I question the ability of PayPal to hold his money in escrow but if they wish to cancel his service they have an absolute right to do so. I've never used PayPal and won't be using it but I am not joining your boycott.
Pro-family? Laughable. PayPal has the right to refuse service to anyone, including those who engage in hate speech. He should start his own version of PayPal and move on. PayPal does not allow the transfer of funds for firearms, so there are a few spin off companies that do allow the sale of firearms.
lol What a crack pot. It appears that Muslims are going to destroy our global country, so we must breed like rabbits to prevent this. lol I like when the dark music starts and the narrator says "Immigration. Islamic immigration".
Why do I get the feeling that "brave Christian man" is fundie speak for hate-filled, intolerant and vile?
I went to the link, and it seems to me that this 'brave Christian man' is having a good old homophobic rant about how unfair the world is. He needs to get over it. Paypal has rules and that is that. He can make his donation some other way.
That still does not abrogate his right to free speech. In turn that right does not mandate PayPal to be part of it in any way. I am not sure about the 180 day escrow.
Its not a free speech issue. Take this site for example, if you "say" something that the mods or Admin do not approve of they can silence you, and delete your post. it has nothing to do with free speech, this is a private site. the 180 escrow is suspect, but paypal can refuse service to whomever they want. My bank will not allow me to use paypal, so i do not have to worry about it, but this has nothing to do with A1.
