If parliament can not regain control, it would be a serious blow to UK democracy and the UK would join nations like Poland and Hungry and even Venezuela.
What kind of business deal do you get with zero negotiation power? The ones tha native americans got? Such sweet deals.
They will get a deal like Mexico or Canada, including tariffs on steel and alu, or what ever the US decides needs to be punished and if they do not behave and do what the US wants tariffs threads and so on
What is going on, please. Wasn't Parliament suspended yet, still functions creating a STOP to any No Deal Brexit https://news.yahoo.com/weakened-uks-johnson-faces-brexit-battle-145105405.html London (AFP) - British lawmakers inflicted a fresh defeat on Prime Minister Boris Johnson's Brexit strategy on Wednesday, approving in principle a law that could stop him taking Britain out of the European Union without a deal next month. . . . What is going on please. And what of the suspension? Moi Prefer Separation of Powers over Parliamentary style any day! Don't ize,
It was suspended but it allowed for 4 days this week and a few days before October 31st. The attempt is to outlaw in these 4 days any attempt to do a No Deal. So far things are going by plan.
Please explain. Her Majesty after approving the suspension should have locked the doors to PARLIAMENT and assigned her guard to keep them secure and locked How much does it cost to buy and MP's vote today? Seems to me rich people are afraid of a No Deal, Brexit. And the E.U. is certainly not going to negotiate a deal fairly.
No the rich are divided on this one. I have heard it described as a battle between the Bankers and the Hedge Funders. The Tory Remainers who Johnson has purged from the Party for voting against him are the ones seen as going by conscience.
Today, Boris threw out of the Tory party 21 members who voted against him last night. These included Churchill's grandson and 'the father of the house' that is the longest serving male member of Parliament.
That's not cricket, BoJo. Thuggery is frowned upon! "Are you sure that you can't order his wonky head lopped off?
The bill still has to pass through the Upper House. Around 100 amendments have been put forward by Tory Lords in an attempt to filibuster. Each amendment takes 30 mins to vote on. Combined with debate time there is more time needed than is available. The Labour leader of the Lords has put forward a motion to guillotine the bill in order to avoid the filibustering. Watch this space.
PARLIAMENT BETRAYS THE BRITISH PEOPLE, AGAIN! No Deal BREXIT doesn't mean deals can't be made the day after. Such deals will be more substantive than Pre BREXIT deals which are more about speculation and preserving some people wealth. The EU has no motivation to offer "nice" pre BREXIT deals. The day after is a different reality. How much does it cost to buy an MP's vote these days.
deals take time to make sometimes a very long time like ten or twenty years. The estimate is that we will see an 8% decline over some years to how we would have been had we stayed in the EU. However work is ahead to make No Deal impossible before Boris's prorogation of Parliament. https://www.theguardian.com/politic...ough-bill-preventing-no-deal-by-end-of-friday Looking at that it must be 5 days before Parliament is suspended. People have in this instance cared enough about the country that they have been prepared to lose their place in the Conservative Party - something which seems to mean a lot to them. The Leader of the Scottish Conservatives of course resigned last week.
If you are the buyer of goods from a country that wants to sell you those goods, the only negotiations will be on the price of those goods, and buyers always have the upper hand in those negotiations.
One thing that seems to have been overlooked is that Corbyn wants to abolish the House of Lords. So if the Lords allow Corbyn to be PM, they will soon be out of their cushy positions. I can't see them approving any law that would allow that. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...-of-lords-abolish-labour-leader-a8365401.html
The EU is not in a position to offer anything, it is what it is. It is down to the UK to suggest something. The UK is acting like a party in a divorce that demands their ex partner has plastic surgery because they don't like their ugly mug, but they're divorcing anyway.
The bill passed in the Lords at 1.30 last night. Ps the bill was about forcing the government to ask the EU for an extension if no new deal has been reached by 31st Oct. The law has nothing to do with allowing Corbyn to become the next PM. The electorate decide that.
Why do you think so many non-EU nations have set up business in the UK? What do you think they will do if the UK no longer has free access to the EU single market?
Tell that to the Nissan car workers in Sunderland or the financial institutions already fleeing to Frankfurt.
Strictly speaking, they voted to advise Parliament to leave the EU. Parliament is working out how to do it without crashing the economy or reigniting the civil war in Northern Ireland. No one voted for a no-deal Brexit, in fact they were told the opposite by all the leave campaigners including Farage, Boris and all of his current cabinet.
