A Northern California county has offered its top job to a leader of the state’s secessionist movement, which advocates for splitting the Golden State in two.

vice president of New California, an organization that supports the secession of California’s rural areas, along with Orange and San Diego counties, into a new state.

The Shasta County Board of Supervisors, alongside a Temporary Advisory Committee, decided to offer the job to Street, who was one of seven candidates interviewed, according to Maung. …

For the record, the secession is from the state of California as the 51st state not from America itself. The article didn’t mention that the inland empire would be with San Diego and Orange in the new state. California would be the coast from LA to Humboldt counties plus the Bay Area and Davis, Sacramento. This is great news! They made the right choice for county CEO. He’s had elective office experience, he’s an economist, a university lecturer, and VP of a group wanting secession from the state. He’s also a writer on political and economic matters and hosts a radio show.

The populist conservatives have a majority here over the establishment conservatives. The article didn’t mention in addition to the above about us regarding our becoming a 2A sanctuary county once our new county counsel correctly words it. Our local grievances against California are too numerous to litigate here.

We are unhappy with the government of the state of California and the people in the big coastal cities who elected it. We are happy with our local boards, city councils, county supervisors, etc. and the local environment we are in. That is why we want to make a red state where we are right now.

Well the five Northern most inland counties (Siskiyou 40k, Modoc 10k, Lassen 30k, Shasta 180k, Tehama 60k) could simply be a part of greater Idaho along with some Oregon rural counties and not add another state or mess with the senate. I’d be happy with that.

The whole splitting off counties in multiple states to form some sort of politically homogeneous enclave is just bizarre.

If Idaho is so idyllic why not simply move there?

Its funny how y’all scream states rights when you don’t control the federal government and local rights when you don’t control the state all while at the same time supporting other state governments completely shutting out local government when it’s something you support.

The idea that your kind will be able to split California because you don’t like it is effectively zero. Maybe blue cities should do that around the nation and we can watch the red states crumble.

Unfortunately that is what California, New York and Illinois residents are doing. It is the greatest migration in American history. People can't move from authoritarian leftist states fast enough. Corporations are moving at unprecedented rates as well. There is a massive collapse headed for Blue state.

The red states are the freeloaders that take the cash from the blue states to keep them afloat.

Please. if you make that kind of statement to xxx(rated)jefferson, please direct him to some southern red state. There are to many of those Cali people moving to the State I have lived in all my life and they are ruining the rights of citizens here.
I agree with your thesis but please, again, direct them to some where in the deep south. Preferably to floriduh!

Glad to know you are pleased with CA jurisdiction. That said, what you want is control, and your political utopia which is a pipe dream. Don't forget, all those community services you enjoy come from the tax dollars from those you wish to disjoint yourselves.

Some how, the concept of which you are describing never seems to resonate with the maga(teaparty) crowd.

You keep saying "shitstain" but it is literally the blue states that have sidewalks covered in feces and drug addicts

No it’s not. It is called Greater Idaho. Might as well have like minded people together in one state. California and Oregon would save money letting those counties go.

We aren’t moving. We simply have a de facto red region within a blue state. A huge rural area with no liberal urban influence north of Sacramento, Yolo, and Sonoma counties. A vast 30% of the size of the state with 4% of its population. While our wages are lower than the coastal urban places, our housing and overall cost of living are lower still. Thus we have fewer homeless, fewer under the COL adjusted poverty line, less welfare than the big coastal urban counties. Because of our lower incomes we pay less in taxes yet the cost to the state for roads, schools, other services are universal to it. We may not have our own state but our school boards, other local government boards, small city councils, county boards of supervisors are all conservative. UpState CA really is another California. That is more than just a tourism slogan.

They don't have to have City departments who are tasked with going around pressure washing the human waste off of the sidewalk and warning signs on public transportation about needles.

So no it's not near as bad and if the red states were so bad why is there such an exodus from the blue states to the red?

It'd be fine with me if progressives didn't move to Florida but unfortunately we're one of the fastest growing states there is
