Crowds of protestors gathered on Sunset Boulevard, calling for a boycott for Beverly Hills Hotel which is a part of the Dorchestor Collection. The Dorchestro Collection is owned by the government of Brunei. The protestors were furious over the recent declaration of enforcement of Islamic laws or more famously known as the sharia law in the Brunei. The crowd was concerned about the Islamic laws concerning the illicit sex, sodomy and drinking laws. The crowd was chanting to stop the barbarous law announced by the government of Brunei. The sultan of Brunei announced the sharia law in the country with severe laws for illicit sex, sodomy, robbery and out of wedlock pregnancies. http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...ception-in-beverly-hills/?wpisrc=nl_headlines
Good for them. I'm surprised this isn't getting more attention, like the Nigerian nightmare of recent days.
Heck yeah. I will boycott the hotel I never intended to ever go to from right here in my living room on the other side of the country. That will teach them to be all religious. Nothing says first amendment like using our free speech rights to trample all over someone's religious rights.
I don't know, I hope it isn't the case but we are talking about Nigeria here, and we know what scam artists they are.
Heaven forbid that Islamic countries want to be run by Islamic law. Don't these people understand their own culture and society? Do they not see how American lawlessness as practiced in Baltimore and Detroit is infinitely better than crime free places? What is wrong with these people? So I guess the only way we can make these barbarians who think crime should be punished see the light of day is to try to shut down a hotel in California so that they will lay off their minimum waged workers. Now that will really hurt, knowing they caused someone with next to no marketable job skills in California, 5000 miles away, to lose their job. Take that Brunei! Oh, did you circulate a petition, as well? I hear petitions almost always work.
