Capitol police officer dies from injuries suffered during riots

I'll bet it was those darn bone spurs acting up again, it's Winter you know, must be rough for him, poor guy has gone thru so much for us!

 

Don't worry, he will be kicked around anyway well into the future.

 

Details now have surfaced that the officer died after being smashed with a fire extinguisher. We know about the woman who got shot in the neck. The other three died like this: one of being trampled by the mob (a 32-year-old woman), one of a heart attack, and one of a stroke (the last two, both middle aged men, were probably killed because of emotions running high and exertion, which can (and do) elevate blood pressure, which can (and did) precipitate the heart attack and the stroke). Given the mechanisms of death, I believe that all five would be alive today if not for what happened (obvious in the case of the one shot, the one smashed with a fire extinguisher, and the one trampled to death, but also highly likely in the case of the one with the stroke and the one with the heart attack).

One can add to this, a few who will die of Covid-19 given this superspreader event. Seriously, it WILL happen. You can't get any closer to each other in terms of social distancing than these packed crowds; transmission is facilitated by shouting and screaming; 99% of these people were unmasked (mask being for sissies, right?), and there is a new and more infectious strain going around; many of the protersters were middle-aged and some even older... bad, bad combination. It is GUARANTEED that a number of protesters will die of Covid-19 in four to five weeks from now.

And then, we need to also understand that it could have been MUCH worse. The FBI has found pipe bombs and Molotov cocktails, and we saw the picture of the guy with the zip cuffs who was described as a "man hunter." There were call to arms in right wing social media calling for killing the cops, killing Capitol police (they did manage to kill one), and kill politicians, including Pence.

If not for the Capitol Police efficiently evacuating the senators and representatives to a safe location inside the building, we could have seen an unprecedented blood bath.

 

Okay so this sounds like a case of manslaughter or second degree murder, have we any leads on the suspect yet? Surely there must be loads of CCTV?

Last I checked the FBI was looking into it and trying to find evidence of who murdered the officer. As of yesterday they hadn't pinpointed it yet. Hopefully they will.
