Challenges to Gov. Tom Wolf’s mandatory shutdown mount from businesses

That will happen by Tuesday at the latest, probably by Monday. Possibly as early as tomorrow (Sunday).

 

Ok, when will 200 a day happen? 300 a day happen? 1000 a day happen? You do know that 6575 Americans and over 150,000 worldwide die every day from other than Coronavirus.

You think we should throw away our freedoms for any government whim without challenge? No thanks.

It would have been cheaper and less invasive to publish the underlying conditions that have led to death and ask those people to self-quarantine and offer them support or even a place to go. What we are doing now isn't sustainable...

 

The problem is regardless of Governor Duecy's decision, the tourism industry and everyone depending on it is in serious trouble regardless. Whatever percent of the 1 billion a week tourism spending that is made up of international travel is instantly gone due to the international travel restrictions and the percent that comes from inter-state travel would probably be next to gone because how many people are thinking this is a good time to travel at the moment.

I feel bad for everyone working in or has a business that relies on the tourism industry. I fear the impact on them is going to be long lasting. I wouldn't be surprise if it takes years before tourism numbers reach the levels they were before the corvid 19 crisis.

 

I live in PA. There are certainly a fair amount of folks up in arms here about it. Got a couple people on my Facebook telling us we should revolt against the government even.

Libertarians say the darndest things.

But it is 100% understandable that people be concerned over their employers closing and them losing a paycheck. The isolation is honestly and truly what we need right now, but Wolf needs to do more to take care of those he's forcing out of work. Unemployment here has been increased from 50% of your weekly wages to 66% but that's not going to be enough if people are going to be forced to stay home. Wolf needs to step up.

We also had that fiasco of PennDOT shutting down all the rest stops on PA highways. They've since reopened some of them, but that was a real idiotic move on their part.

 

As a Philadelphian(native born). I'm proud of the resistance in Pennsylvania. May liberty ring free in the State that started it all. Of course the resistance begins there. Only those who are sickened, should be in quarantine. Why should the healthy and able be in quarantine? Because we don't know? Well there are new tests that'll help us fill in that lack of knowledge. And if it comes back that the chances of acquiring the virus are slim, we should make moves to restore our economy, our freedoms and our way of life.

But more than that, we must investigate the corruption of selling stocks, and we must investigate how it was so easy to destroy the Republic. This must never happen again, it is worse than the virus it was purported to protect us from.
