http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencet...ds-tallest-skyscraper--just-THREE-MONTHS.html You know in right about 50 or 60 years, when US tripped over #1 to #2, heck, may be even #5, we saw it coming... we all saw it coming. Because the supposed leader of the 'free world' were busy trying to give slackers stuff for 'free', high-fiving Psy, and making sure a kid has two moms... I hope Obbie Cnoobie has the guts to say "you didn't build that!" to those chinese CEOs...
They have so much manpower they could build a full set of pyramids with spoons in months. Amazing what ant like cultural homogeniety can produce when the ants are properly motivated by guards with guns and patriotic fervor.
You mean allowing corporations to set government policy and avoid taxation. You mean Americans who preferred to buy cheap chinese goods over US made ones. You mean allowing large corporations an unfair competative advantage over locally owns equivalents? Troll thread, congratulations!
Didn't happen, shot down by you big government libs! Didn't happen, shot down by you sweat-shop doomsday preaching libs! Yea that did happen, thanks to you regulation embracing, market-entry barrier loving libs!
I wish they would fly jet filled commercial airplanes into them, to show to the world that they can withstand the attack and expose the US government for the fraud that it is.
I wish that conspiracy theorists like you would quit pushing your nonsense in mainstream forums and stick to your own dedicated tin foil part.
The only question will be how long it takes for the building to show up on Discovery channels engineering disasters series...
Chin's rise is not the product of the last four or the last eight years, but decades of policy. Decades, spanning both Democrat and Republican administrations. Besides, you are an American. I thought you were supposed to be happy to see a nation rise up and become like yourself.
It has been a consistent policy of allowing economic freedom after a fashion while simulataneously quashing political freedom. It'll be interesting to see how long they can maintain this duality as the government increasingly becomes a gnat trying to steer an elephant.
It was the same for America in her youth. Carnegie, Rockefeller, Vanderbilt, and all those guys were infamous for characterizing that time period. We were China, and now China is us.
China has 700,000,000 more people than the US. They should have a larger economy and they should be able to build buildings really fast. The US is not going anywhere in terms of the most robust nation on earth. Just because 1 billion people can create the same as 300 million doesn't mean they are better off.
It's going to come crashing down. I doubt it will last longer than anything else I've bought that was made in China.
Just aggregate wise it will end up being very difficult for us to be a larger economy than China. That won't mean we are worse off, it will just mean they produce more (*)(*)(*)(*) for their 1 billion people to consume. They have to feed, clothe, and produce goods for 1 billion people, that's a (*)(*)(*)(*)ing lot of resources that we couldn't consume in our country.
I think their wealth comes from producing things for other nations, not themselves. That's how they made their money, by being the factory of the world with cheap human labor. The products are shipped back to be sold in foreign markets, but I don't think China's people benefit, directly. It gets collected at the top. I think the equivalents of Rockefeller, Carnegie, and that like are rising in China at the moment. But that never stopped US business from taking them up on the offer.
Difference is, our sociopolitical culture is much farther advanced than theirs and the world politic is based on Western cultural values, not Asian ones. Ham fisted attempts by a juvenile Chinese giant to hegemonize its region, let alone the world is a huge setback for the globe. China cannot possibly make a better global hegemon than the USA!
To rebuild the World Trade Center, which was supposedly a high national priority, it took over three years to get the permits for the initial design review. Architects couldn't even begin drafting plans until the initial design review was completed. Its been 11 years and the building still isn't completed and it isn't close to being the tallest building in the world. It isn't the Chinese manpower. It is American over-regulation that is killing us.
This is America, we can't spend or do anything, not because of the 47%, but because the 1% has to have the right to hoard everything.... America is a small thinking place, with a small thinking future... with the ********** mindset, we won't be building BIG things, like skyscrapers, dam or bridges, we won't be going to Mars... we'll be living like the Mad Max movies with all the stuff we built when we used to be great, before Reagan ruined all that, crumbles around us.
Yeah, continue beleiving that life was so super duper perfect during the (*)(*)(*)(*)ty 60's and 70's. Life sucked back then way worse than it does now. The Pre-Reagan tax rates were tyrannical. You don't get to tyrannize people just becuase they have money you want.
As I am currently residing in China, I can tell you it's not even remotely close to that. The ChiComs are better capitalists than we are. It's dizzying.
Not if every cell of the elephant knows where they are going and happy about it: A poll conducted by the Pew Research Center before the 2008 Olympics found that 86 percent of the Chinese interviewed were happy with the direction that China was going, up from 48 percent in 2002, and two thirds thought the government was doing a good job. These were much higher numbers than were found in the United States and European countries on the same issues. In the United States only 26 percent were happy with the direction the country was going.
I pity a kid like you that were raised in liberal environments. When I was young, these people are viewed and revered by me as tycoons and giants that MADE America. Tell me kid, why didn't you add Bill Gates to the list? Because you know BG somehow 'earned' his status didn't cha? "But for Rockefeller, Vanderbilt... well, I don't know much about them so I'm gonna slander them all I want!" Riiiight? This is the story that I remember since I was little:A reporter went to visit Andrew Carnegie and were told to wait in his office. Soon an old man in humble clothing came in and the reporter though he was an office clerk, so the reporter asked him whether he could be so kind to pour him a cup of water. The man obeyed, but when passing the cup, the man asked the reporter what did the reporter want to talk about with him. Nah I'm just wasting my time here, these fatcats are baby-eating dog-car-roof-putting monsters...
What are you talking about? The days of Carnegie and Rockefeller were some of the worst American days ever. 12-14 hour work days, no social security, little education or public libraries, child labor, class division and astounding corruption from the neighborhood policemen to the seats of the Senate. Bill Gates...of course I can add him. Rockefeller and Carnegie earned their own money also...off the labor of others. Bill Gates is worth 50 BILLION dollars. His company is worth even more and it is a vast company. Do you know how many companies he squeezed out of the business and how many he edged out from becoming serious contenders? You think a company can become that massive and global without significant competition because Bill Gates is smarter than everyone else? I think you simply worship people with material success, or see that success or the ability to create wealth as a virtue. I don't demonize the wealthy any more han the average person, but I realize that the immoral and the criminal among the wealthy have the power and influence to inflict the same upon the people of a town, country, or world. Unbelievable. He dresses humbly...I can't believe you actually wrote that as some sort of defense. So do serial killers, FL. So do rapists and thieves.
