Who do you think will win Cold War 2 between NATO and it's allies and China and Russia and their allies?
This is silly, because I can't see NATO aligning itself with China. And I can't see them going to war with Russia either. But even take out China alltogether, I doubt that Russia could stand against NATO. They are still a Big Bad Bear militarily, but they no longer have Eastern Europe as their front door. You would probably see most of their former territories either stay out of a conflict, or get drawn in on the NATO side because they do not want to get over-run yet again. Poland comes immediately to mind there. They have been trying to fully break away from Russia for decades now, and if a war broke out, you would probably see them throw in with NATO because they know that at the end, NATO would leave. If Russia came in, they would likely never leave. Ukraine, Belarus, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Bulgaria, and just about every other country in the region would likely want to be left out of it, or even join in on the side of NATO if they thought a NATO victory would make Russia leave them alone in the future. Most of these nations have been used for centuries as cannon fodder for Russia, and they are sick of both bleeding for other people, as well as Russia trying to dictate to them like it was still the Soviet Union.
Yes I agree with you on the eastern European states, siding with NATO, but unless Belarus could get rid of their current leader, they would join Russia. And I was saying NATO and it's allies Vs China, Russian and their allies. China and Russia on the same side against NATO. Who do you think India and Pakistan would side with? In think Brazil would be on the NATO side, Turkey and them are good friends. But they do dislike the UK. South Africa would be on the Chinese side, against Nigeria, now that an Africa war I would like to see.
Nobody wins it just costs both sides a whole lot for no or very little benefit. (Just like Cold War I).
Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania and Bulgaria are all members of NATO. They are also in the EU, and are committed to the EU CSDF.
India would align with whatever side did NOT aligned with Pakistan. They are mortal enemies would never be aligned with them. And China has had it's eye on Kashmir for a while and would surely make sure India stays out of that disputed territory. I think if for some unforeseen reason, Pakistan aligned with the West, India would remain nutural however.
Absolutely never happen. China has too much money invested in the US and Europe to even have the desire to create hostiltites....plus....North Korea, Genghis Khan, and Tibet excluded...China is not an imperialist power. Russia doesn't have the money to benefit from increased tension with NATO and the US. If there is gonna be a next cold war...it'll be between the next 2 great superpowers. After the US becomes a second rate economic power during the 00's...countries like India and China will battle each other for supremacy
I think I will start some threads with ridiculous scenarios also "If Santa Claus declares war on Russia, who will China support?" Russia and China have been enemies for hundreds of years. Even during the Cold War, when the West tried to portray them as allies, Russia and China were both trying to exploit what they could from the other.
This. And the tensions between those new superpowers will be mediated by the west, to prevent conflict, as both will have strong economic and political ties with the west. (I would also like to take this opportunity to express my shock at the ignorance of some people who use this forum! Talk about self obsessed!)
