This doesn't completely surprise me. Will he get very many votes? Where will all the money come from to do all the things he wants to do:

The debate between him, and RFK Jr will be hilarious.

    Not RFK Jr.
Hilarious would be watching DeSantis stutter as his head spins.

'He then returned to Union Theological Seminary for one year before going to Princeton to become a professor of religion and director of the Program in African-American Studies from 1988 to 1994.[16] After Princeton, he accepted an appointment as professor of African-American studies at Harvard University, with a joint appointment at the Harvard Divinity School.[37] West taught one of the university's most popular courses, an introductory class on African-American studies.[38] In 1998, he was appointed the first Alphonse Fletcher University Professor.[39] West used this new position to teach in not only African-American studies, but also in divinity, religion, and philosophy.[37] West was also inducted into Omicron Delta Kappa in 1998 at SUNY Plattsburgh.

West left Harvard after a widely publicized[40] dispute with then-President Lawrence Summers in 2002.[41] That year, West returned to Princeton, where he helped found the Center for African-American studies in 2006. In 2012, West left Princeton and returned to the institution where he began his teaching career, Union Theological Seminary.[42] His departure from Princeton, unlike his departure from Harvard, was quite amicable. He continued to teach occasional courses at Princeton in an emeritus capacity as the Class of 1943 University Professor in the Center for African American Studies.[43]

West returned to Harvard in November 2016, leaving Union Theological Seminary for a nontenured position as Professor of the Practice of Public Philosophy, jointly appointed at the Harvard Divinity School and the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences Department of African and African-American Studies.[44][45][46]

There could be a spoiler but I don't think it will be West.

The real monkey wrench in the works, would be if Joe Manchin ran, for the Unity Party.

    < Google Snip>
What does the Unity Party believe in?
As of 2014, the Unity Party platform was outlined as supporting a balanced budget amendment, an elimination of the federal income tax, a health care tax deduction, Social Security reform, term limits, and gerrymandering reform.

    <End>

That said, everyone has the right to run, just as I continue to contend, whenever anyone brings up Nader, in 2000.

It is like a troop of ants crawling up an elephant's leg with rape on their minds.

I hear that DeSaster prefers to bobble his head rather than spin it, but yes... good stuff nonetheless.

Diversity only matters if it makes you a winner and correctly divides the public. West throws a blanket over the obvious hypocrisy of the democrats. it makes them have their own "Off the reservation" conversations. One wonders if his run will induce all of the usually attacks from the left, like Uncle Tom, etc...

I think he's insignificant enough that the Democrats will be able to ignore him.

The media won't cover him and he wont be debating anyone for any free exposure. Its really too bad because we clearly have a broken two party system if we are going to be nominating the very two people that voters do not want nominated in a do-over of 2020.

I guess that having a long resume in African American studies somehow qualifies you to be president?

If anything West will draw votes from the Democrats, which will be a good thing. As president, he would be a total disaster. His extreme leftist agenda would bankrupt the country, and crime would go through the roof. If you want an example of what he would be, look no further the Bill de Blasio when he was Mayor of New York City. When de Blasio was done, even the left couldn't stand him.
