I think this is worse than anyone initially thought. If you are contagious and not knowing it for nearly a month, imagine how many people you could infect. They also say you could get infected via your eyes.

Also, satellite imagery is showing major levels of sulfur dioxide which is assumed that there are thousands of bodies (human and or animal) being burnt in the city of Wuhan. Not sure about the legitimacy, but thought I'd at least post and you can decide for yourself.

Isn’t trump proposing a 9% cut to the centers for disease control?

    Most excellent timing

Might just be poorly tuned diesels. Some of those buses and trucks will turn your clothes dirty in passing -- people were wearing masks in that shathole long before corona virus.

So, during these tense times with the coronavirus, you would be apt to increase the federal budget on the CDC. Just looking for some persepctive.

    Meanwhile...
In the 2018-2019 flu season, more 61,000 Americans died of influenza - about 6x more than murdered with a firearm and >5500x more than murdered with an 'assault weapons' in a mass shooting.

Na, we should cut it to zero — let it run it’s course.

I wasn't phishing for sarcasm but an actual response. I'm okay with keeping the dollars or even expanding during times of need.

Like all government programs it needs major reforms and efforts to tackle fraud (secret service detail and soundproof rooms for the head) and waste but taking a cleaver to the program isn’t the answer.

It’s a shame the first world has to put up with viruses that come from Africa and Asia. If they’d stop eating bats, rats, and other bizarre meats we wouldn’t have this problem.

Throwing money at problems has worked wonders.

I'm going to be honest. I work for the government. You could eliminate 80% of the people there and nobody would know the difference.

But you're right, maybe we should throw money at it. That has worked wonders for the war on drugs, the war on poverty, and our failing education system.

First world has to put up with a lot of their ****...

Like their complete disregard for the environment, which gets blamed on the US, too.

I love it when someone pops into one of these types of threads with a reality check like this.
