The question of why they all "appear to be white males?" My OP didn't answer that question because the article didn't ASK that question! That was YOUR question which you said the article raised, when really it is just you raising it. However, you asked, so I answered. And you have been unable to refute it.

No, my OP suggested that the ARTICLE was dumb, where no such question was even asked. Even if it was asked, the article as a whole would still be dumb because it is criticising an emergency taskforce based on its lack of diversity. Anyone with two brain cells to rub together knows that this is dumb. Now the question that YOU raised isn't dumb - I'll say that it's fair, but I do think that there is a perfectly good explanation which I've already given but which you haven't been able to refute.

No, neither of these are true. And if I don't hear back from you, then it's clear that you know perfectly well that you've made a mistake in thinking that the article asked a question which it simply didn't ask and also the mistake in saying that I called something dumb which I didn't call dumb. I'll leave it with you. :)

The article answered the question in the last paragraph (poorly, but you didn't want to discuss the article did you). It's the obvious question the whole issue of diversity is based around in this context but your OP didn't only dismiss the article, it dismissed the topic of diversity entirely, stating that it isn't important in the context of the corona-virus situation.

Of course that raises the question that if it is inappropriate for a short article to be written about the lack of diversity within the US administration because it's not as important as the corona-virus, why is it acceptable for you (and me) to spend time discussing this less important topic? You didn't dismiss the article based on its quality, you dismissed it on it's subject matter alone.

Lots of people raise the questions about diversity and I'm, one of them. I just don't have any interest in discussing them with you. My point here was to challenge your dismissal of the article and the topic of diversity out of hand and I've done that.

    The last paragraph:

"But the visuals that have come to define the Trump administration say something else, too. They signal which people in a multi-racial, half-female country Trump values the opinions of: mostly white men who are mirror images of the President himself."

I have no idea what question you think that paragraph is answering. Again, there's not even a QUESTION along the lines that you're talking about. The ONLY question in the article is, "who are these experts?"

That's because it ISN'T important in the context of the corona-virus situation! Why would it be? It's an EMERGENCY SITUATION in case you hadn't realised! You don't live in a cave do you?

This article may talk more generally about the lack of diversity in the administration, but it CLEARLY has a FOCUS on the corona taskforce! I don't have a problem with talking about the lack of diversity in the administration more generally. And I can't see why you think I do.

Well, BOTH actually. And the subject matter, as made clear in the article's title, involves a focus on the corona taskforce, as an example of a lack of diversity, when it is the worst example that could possibly be used given that it's an emergency situation. Do you actually think that it's a reasonable example?

LOL. Well of course you don't have any interest in discussing them with me! You simply don't have what it takes to debate me! Just like so many others!

In a perfect world one need not sacrifice diversity in order to get competence.
In fact, high competence with diversity is probably better than the same level of competence without it.

With or without diversity the competence level being the same they would be completely equal groups because they wouldnt be graded off there color.

So why is CNN unconcerned at the apparent lack of diversity in the DNCs 2020 candidates?

Sure. Just trumpists love to pick an issue that displays their confirmation bias. I kinda shrugged.

Oh, so this is a legitimate critique?
