If Truman didn't go to prison why should Netanyahu? Netanyahu is fighting an enemy who is hiding behind the citizens. The US and Britain bombed the hell out of German civilians and no one demanded those bombings stop so aid could get to the Germans. Netanyahu should not be judged by different standards than Truman and Churchill.

While Trump was pretty much an underdog indeed in 2016, Netanyahu in Israel pretty much is the establishment in Israel. Israel is in an on-off-relationship with him since 1996, if he wants to give the finger to the establishment, he has to use a mirror.

Framing Trump as the underdog, the outsider for the establishment has some justification, though 2016 much more than today, but Netanyahu?? Common. Nobody embodies the political establishment in Israel like Netanyahu.

I rather doubt it, at this time Israel has been brought together by conflict (if that's not a contradiction in terms). I think he'll be in the same position as Bill Clinton, allowed to leave office and then given a token punishment.

They generally prefer content free emotional rants and/or conspiracy theories rather tha nusing that same time to inform themselves. These are what the phrase 'low information voter' describes. We need to make allowances.

 

Israel may have come together, but it seems that one of the things they have come together on is thst they don't much like Netanyahu. Those who are inclined to pursue him for his various breaches of the law may decide to expend their efforts elsewhere, but they might just as easily decide that he is out of friends & out of luck.

Hard to know how this all shakes out.
