Omicron BA.2 sub-variant now nearly a quarter of new COVID cases in U.S., CDC estimates

    https://www.cbsnews.com/news/covid-cases-ba2-omicron-sub-variant-cdc/

Since January, Omicron has made up virtually all new infections in the U.S. Like in many countries abroad, most cases in the U.S. had been caused by a sub-lineage of Omicron known as BA.1. But while both BA.1 and BA.2 can be traced back to some of the earliest samples gathered of Omicron, BA.2 has only recently begun to climb in prevalence.

BA.2's prevalence is the highest in the Northeast, according to the CDC's "Nowcast" estimates published Tuesday. In the region spanning New York and New Jersey, the agency estimates 39.0% of circulating viruses are BA.2. In New England, prevalence of BA.2 is at 38.6%.

Oh stop panicking. Omicron is what is sweeping China and the new variant doesn't appear to be as dangerous as even Omicron.

We knew long ago that pretty much everyone will get Omicron. But the the death rate was only about 0.3% of known infections. In the beginning we saw a lethality rate of about 2% of known infections.

I'm done with the covid already. Science says the best protection is to get it, develop natural antibodies, and get it over it. I'm leaning heavily that way myself.

So you haven't been vaccinated but you're leaning that way? LOL! You made your choice long ago.

But as you can see above, your claim is false. In fact it may be possible to catch covid year after year, just like "the common cold", which are Corona viruses.

Sorry but I cant find anywhere they refute the alleged myth on point?
They do not say natural immunity is not as good as the vax, neither do they say the vax is as good as natural immunity.

They just do a tap dance around it to sell us a wooden nickel!

MYTH: The natural immunity I get from being sick with COVID-19 is better than the immunity I get from COVID-19 vaccination.

FACT: Getting a COVID-19 vaccination is a safer and more dependable way to build immunity to COVID-19 than getting sick with COVID-19.

COVID-19 vaccination causes a more predictable immune response than infection with the virus that causes COVID-19. Getting a COVID-19 vaccine gives most people a high level of protection against COVID-19 and can provide added protection for people who already had COVID-19. One study showed that, for people who already had COVID-19, those who do not get vaccinated after their recovery are more than 2 times as likely to get COVID-19 again than those who get fully vaccinated after their recovery.

All COVID-19 vaccines currently available in the United States are effective at preventing COVID-19. Getting sick with COVID-19 can offer some protection from future illness, sometimes called “natural immunity,” but the level of protection people get from having COVID-19 may vary depending on how mild or severe their illness was, the time since their infection, and their age.

Getting a COVID-19 vaccination is also a safer way to build protection than getting sick with COVID-19. COVID-19 vaccination helps protect you by creating an antibody response without you having to experience sickness. Getting vaccinated yourself may also protect people around you, particularly people at increased risk for severe illness from COVID-19. Getting sick with COVID-19 can cause severe illness or death, and we can’t reliably predict who will have mild or severe illness. If you get sick, you can spread COVID-19 to others. You can also continue to have long-term health issues after COVID-19 infection.

Learn about why you should get vaccinated even if you already had COVID-19.

The claim is coorrect and science supports it.

all tyou have is the CDC which is massively lacking in scientific credibility

We were warned that if we did not vax to a high proportion of the population we would see mutations and variants

Americas low vaccination rate puts it at massive risk

It doesn’t matter any more. You get get your immunity from a shot, or you can catch it. It depends on your own freedom to evaluate your own morbidity, vs the dangerousness of this variant.
The Chinese virus won. It’s time to adapt and move on. Like most of you I plan to live forever. So far so good!

I knew it! Talk of loosening the mask requirements and now a new strain is in circulation. We're never getting rid of this thing.

Masking is basically nonexistent, federal response is rolling down since Congress didn't fund it, (Iran will get $10+ billion but we couldn't fund a domestic COVID program, nice), Brandon's CDC is slowly telling everyone COVID is basically over, southern border is about to open even more then they already is, travel restrictions soon to be a thing of the past.

Yea, another surge is coming. Its so obvious.

Inhalation is an important route for delivery of many medicines for treatment of chronic lung diseases. Design of ideal inhaled agents is challenging and we have made important advances in understanding how to do it. Capabilities included a proprietary inhalation delivery device and a promising mid-stage pipeline of inhaled and oral drugs. I was fortunate to have led teams to discover and undertake initial development of 22 compounds, with many showing good evidence of clinical activity…

Will be interesting to see how Dems handle this with it being an election year. How do they play this one?
