I'm not sure what your issue is with NVSS guidelines. Doctors who treated the patients when they died fill these out, you know. If a patient with severe asthma presents to the ER and dies rapidly of respiratory failure - they're not going to say it's because of covid without a test, and in fact such a case is more likely to be incorrectly assumed to be because of asthma alone, while it may have actually been the combination of covid and asthma. But if a patient with no history of respiratory problems presents in a similar way, clinical judgement would usually assume correct it was a covid case, but depending upon the totality of the clinical information available and, in mysterious cases, an autopsy.

Another approach is to look for "excess deaths" not explained by the usual causes before covid. Such studies show that covid cases are routinely undercounted, but much worse in places like India than the US.

 

You don't know how it works. You made the claim. You provide something more than your own feelings to establish your own claims.

Probably not. COVID doesn't appear to kill anyone without some sort of medical condition already in place. So by adding the underlying conditions with COVID will definitely result in a statistic like the one above.
