There is big crisis of confidence in healthcare, starting from Nazi's human experiments till today. Public health has covered lot many milestones. Still today people lack trust in public health interventions. Healthcare reforms are going on right now in the country but people are finding it difficult to build there trust on these reforms. This crisis of confidence has literally turn down lot many public health intervention and lot many healthcare reforms. Still Tuskegee syphilis case exists in people's mind somewhere the other. People still searching for one the right answer.
Last time word 'crisis of confidence' was used by Jimmy carter and it did not prove good for him and this time again we are seeing this word crisis of confidence for Affordable Care Act. Now the question is, are we taking enough steps to reduce the severity of this word 'crisis of confidence'. Still Affordable Care Act failed to enroll enough people especially young people, who had to share the burden of old and sick. It's not the matter of enrollment in ACA , we see this crisis of confidence in medical research. People hesitate to enroll in any studies. Then how we are going to know what is best in healthcare. Same goes for healthcare procedures.
Solid measures are needed to address the issue of crisis of confidence in healthcare. Personalism, which is the best interest of individual, should be the core of our policies. People should feel that basic principles of autonomy, beneficence, non maleficence and justice are properly applied and practiced.
