That is a pretty ugly fix. :/ I guess I'll give it a shot tomorrow. Thanks a ton for spending so much time helping me.
It is also possible that your headphones are just broken (hardware), and no amount of software tweaking will fix it. You might want to test them in another PC or two and see how they work there.
I suggested that just to make absolutely sure I am correct. It seems to be a somewhat common problem with a wide range of USB headsets... but the more I look at this... I am willing to bet it is one of the commonly used chipset by c-media Stagnant... if the device lists in Device Manager, please right click it, go to details and look at the weird thing there... it will look similar to this. Look at the Vendor ID, if it is 0D8C or 13F6... then please try using a driver from HERE instead. You will be looking for the one which correlates to the Device ID. If not, please tell me what the Vendor and Device IDs are. These are what are known as PCI ID numbers. Every manufacturer has a unique one, and each device under a manufacturer has a unique one. This is just a hunch, but if correct is an actual fix... not an ugly one.
Hardware ID values are USB\\VID_0D8C&PID_0105&REV_0100&MI_00 and USB\\VID_0D8C&PID_0105&MI_00. I don't know what the Device ID is, though. usb\class_01? Making this whole thing more complex is that my entire GUI is stuck in German, and I'm not great at translating the technical terms... Where would I find the device ID?
In linux, these id's are used in much the same way... to find them you would do for pci devices, and for usb devices Bolded are my video card and my zwave controller.
HAHA!! It IS a c-media device. The Device ID is the PID (Product ID) in your case... 0105... which I do not see an accurate link for... gimme a min. ** Ok it looks to be the cm6300, for which there is only a windows 8 driver. I would try it. If it doesn't wanna go, I would try any of the windows 7 drivers, hoping it is covered. Lemme know. *** It claims "Windows® Vista™ / 7 WHQL Certification" so I would expect that win8 driver to work... as it is the ONLY one available from their download link.
Sorry, was AFK (man, Path of Exile is incredibly addictive, and I just had to get those two extra levels to use my new unique summoner gear. Zombies and Skeletons for everyone!). Download running, I'll keep you posted on results.
Bad news: the system still recognizes it as a speaker, it's still too loud. Good news: significant improvement. It's only "way too loud" upwards of the "20" range, rather than upwards of the... um... "2" range. It's not a perfect solution, but it is so much better. Thank you so much, Ctrl. Now I can finally use these regularly, rather than only when I absolutely have to!
Ausgezeichnet! Glückwünsche!!! Remember, you can also still reduce the application output (I would expect to 40%) and then the mixer range should "seem" normal.
Jesus, this forum has better tech support guys than dedicated hardware/software forums. Thanks again, man. - - - Updated - - - Jesus, this forum has better tech support guys than dedicated hardware/software forums. Thanks again, man.
Bitte. Please note, that I am an Ayn Rand fan. Politics have no bearing here. This is tech. You(pl) do not have to agree with me to be helped here. I will not allow anyone to lead you astray.
Pay it forward. Please update any forums you visited for this issue with the (albeit (*)(*)(*)(*)ty) solution to their problems. You are MY people. I don't have time to solve the problems of the world of technology. Please help me achieve a noble goal by helping others. Thanks.
But the problem is that I have an anti-malware already called Kasperskey or something like that. The problem started when I allowed popups from a site for Chemistry.
Kaspersky is brilliant at catching viruses... assuming you run a full scan every once in a while, NOT relying on its active scanner. However it is about 60% at catching "malware" Please run SAS after updating.
Full scan. http://support.kaspersky.com/8719 I would change the following options under "options" allow it to scan email, archives, and change its heuristics scan to medium. Drop the results here. However... I am of the firm belief, that you should run SAS, and after updating *important, run a full scan, including archives. I believe it is more likely to solve your issue.
It's saying it noticed a malware, a trojan program called MEM:Rootkit.Win64.TDL4.ac Do I want to disinfect?
Ugh. Yes. Please then immediately download Kaspersky TDSSKiller http://www.majorgeeks.com/Kaspersky_TDSSKiller_d6895.html and follow their guide here... http://www.majorgeeks.com/page.php?id=55
Rootkits are particularly nasty. You have no idea what they are covering. http://www.politicalforum.com/computers-tech/287161-ctrls-tech-cafe.html#post1062244401 When your kaspersky scans are done, please dl http://www.superantispyware.com , update, and run a full scan again. It will address cookies... ignore those... Please explain or paste a screenshot of anything else it finds.
So am I. I'm still getting the ads in the bottom right corner though. But now they're different. They turn black, load in, and then nothing. It just turns into whatever the page was supposed to look like.
