Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) has literally crushed his opponent, Robert Asterino by a wide margin in the New York Gubernatorial election. Early returns project Cuomo as the winner in this hotly contested race which led to a stinging defeat of the governor wanna-be.

I think Asterino's remark about senior citizens who couldn't afford dentures should only eat soup did him in.

Heck, they called it for Cuomo before they started counting the votes.

Were dropped on your head as a child or something? Think about what you just posted. A candidate and his staff say that they will win. Never in the entire history of politics have I ever heard of such a thing happening........oh wait.......THEY ALWAYS SAY THAT!

No, they counted the votes just before the polls opened so they could go home early.

I recommend using the /sarcasm tag then as it doesn't always come through on the interwebz. At least I hope that you were being sarcastic because if you actually are using Asterino's campaign as a credible source for the outcome of the election that would be very sad.

Yeah, but this is New York we're talking about here. The City probably did it in. The Republican era doesn't start until maybe next millennium... when they move into the city.

Most of the cities carry the state when it comes time for the voting. The rural area's are mostly conservative or ultra conservative; I think the message to Conservatives from the state is that they are not welcome in NY. There's plenty of room for them in Texas or some other red state where they can be with their own mindset.
