David Hogg pushes Laura Ingraham boycott after Fox News host taunts him over college admissions

Your fallacy is thinking getting rid of the guns will stop the violence. Just as the resident Aussie likes to ignore anything but gun violence, you need to study how well gun bans work. Sure, they will cause gun deaths to drop, but if criminals simply switch to other methods or if crime rates don't drop after guns are taken, then you need to look elsewhere for solutions. I've seen data that shows after guns are taken certain types of crimes go up for the simple fact that criminals have less to fear when they know their victims are mostly unarmed and helpless.

 

Bottom line: Australia and the UK do not have school massacres, and THAT is the issue at this time. Anything else you want to discuss is another issue. This thread is about an adult, a media person with, I imagine, a college education, attacking a high school kid who went through a school massacre in his own high school and is speaking out his opinion. Adults attacking kids like this, kids who had 17 of the classmates and teachers murdered in a school massacre....adults doing that (RWrs, the NRA, and media people)is disgusting, beneath contempt. That is the issue here, not crime in any other country.

 

Hogg is a leftist tool and the only reason you get upset about the Right criticizing him is because you agree with him. When he calls NRA members child killers, when he manages to get advertisers to pull ads, when he goes on profanity filled tantrums and uses his platform to push an agenda, he deserves to be called out. If you and the rest of the Left don't like it too bad. As much as you hate it, the Right has the same 1st Amendment rights as the Left.

 

I get upset because

1) he is still a teenager, and not some criminal or gangbanger, he's just a normal high school kid;

2) he went through a massacre at his school where 17 people died, most his contemporaries and classmates;

3) none of us have gone through something like that at his age and in our school; we owe him respect and compassion;

4) we are adults, you are an adult, those attacking him are adults and should know better than to attack what is a traumatized young man who has justifiable strong feelings;

and

5) he is getting his rhetoric from the adults and simply using the kind of language and tone he has seen adults use (Right and Left).

He is not a ‘tool’ of anyone. He is an American who is speaking his mind after experiencing a horrific, murderous event. A mass killing at his school with his classmates and teachers being slaughtered. That you cannot see that and think of him as just a loud mouthed, obnoxious 'tool' says things about you I cannot write on this board.

He does not deserve to be 'called out.' And now, because of the vicious attacks on him by the RW, he is being threatened with physical violence. His life may even be on the line. This is really what you people want?

 

If they spew anti semitism, of course I do.if I heard an ignorant pastor refer to a woman who survived a mass killing as a lesbo butch, I would consider him one of the deplorables,
