Democratic socialism, it's the playground of the fems, gays, and baby badger supporting liberals.

Basically, it has nothing to do with communism, and is only for Liberals that like to sound 'enlightened'.

    So,

    1. Why do people think it's the same as Communism?
    2. Why do people even support this dem soc. sham in the first place?
    3. Why is it usually rich libs that love it?
    4. Why do people even think that the peace and love ideology has any chance in hell of success?

Obama is too far to the right of this ideology to call him a 'democratic socialist'

this is more the peace and love, Trotskyist stuff like 'Socialist Party USA, Greens, etc..

So many factions the lines are so blurred anymore most types of socialism and communism have many economic similarities though. To answer the question of why people think it will work, I don't think they do but capitalism erodes itself over a period of time. For example we may disagree about economic equality but what we can't ignore is the wealth gap. It's huge and disturbing number and many more Americans know about it then they did decades past. Also most Americans knows things are getting worse instead of better. Inflation coupled with lower wages has got some important questions being asked and people reconsidering what's really going on.

How do you know what the lying President's ideology, religion, loyalty, or whatever might be. He was tutored by a communist to be a communist. Application is a problem since he's not very bright and most Americans aren't communists or socialists. As for peace and love? That's a joke. The president whose only claim to fame is Obamacare and a murder in Pakistan. A President of Drones?

As for who believes, who votes for him? Dr. Gruber answered that question for you.

Would that be 2012 or 2014?

    2012 they said 'GIMME!'

2014 they said otherwise and it looks like the GOP didn't hear them.

Personally I can't stand socialist America. It's a mockery of the constitution and all that gave their lives to true freedom. The republican party is no better. They keep the same policies in place. They prey on their followers good intentions and quest for freedom. Meanwhile never veering from the socialist democracy. They only protest it because it gets the voters motivated, because they are begging for relief or change in this unfair system. It's all a sham! The only thing American politicians care about is MONEY.

Yeah, exactly. Market socialism is an oxymoron since socialism was supposed to be the antithesis of markets, so of course the analogous "democratic socialism" we see today is going to be figuratively lame.

Socialists like Marx and Engels were writing from a very narrow viewpoint that fundamentally misunderstands human nature. Market socialism is a failed attempt to adapt communism to reality and it gets both wrong in doing so.

Because there are ignorant people, and always there had been.
It's the greatness of democracy, people vote, and if leaders don't do good they are free to not re-elect them.
Not sure about this, a lot of right wingers loathe socialists, taxes and all which is democratic in general.
Till now we experimented the fear and loathe ideology and it has proven to be very detrimental so why not at least try a new way?

peace and love may work in a small community, but in a large country - no chance

I think that Democratic Socialism is somewhat a liberal movement to promote the democratic aspects of Socialism/Communism. Let's not put extremist corporatism in line with state-owned economy (by no means happening in America)

Because it has and will have succeeded and shown itself to be the ultimate solution.
