The creators are talking about using this type of technology to 'bootstrap' Australia's exiting National Broadband Network up to higher speeds by installing chip sets equipped with this technology at key junctures throughout the network. The idea being to boost the networks overall performance without having to go the vast expense of physically upgrading the cabling etc itself.
