Well, thank God. I called this on this board over a year ago. Iger is a great CEO. Read his bestselling book. Chapek was a disaster. Next step for Disney is to end all the pedophilic crap and become a family oriented company again.

God Bless Walt Disney. A great American.

P.S. We will be buying Disney stock in early hours!

If the company still caters to wokieness, then nothing has changed.

A lot of investors don't want wokeness, they want ROI. Chapek miscalculated on how much money there is in being woke and was wrong. Then he went to war with DeSantis which was stupid. I have no idea why many companies choose to alienate half their audience by dragging social/political junk into their message. They exist to make money, being woke doesn't do that.

Catering to the woke is slowly disappearing. This is a good thing, though surprising our nation ever became insane enough to do it in the first place. Good move by Disney, though I have no doubt they aren’t yet done with the woke.

I'm glad Iger was fired, but I think Disney is probably too far over the falls to turn things around at this point. It would take something drastic, like what Musk is doing at Twitter, and no publicly-traded company would do anything nearly so drastic, no matter how necessary it may be.

It won’t change over night like twitter is “kinda” doing. A publicly traded company will have to slowly change with culture.

CEO's get credit when things go good, they should also get the blame when things go bad... course sure the CEO did very well $$$ regardless how he did as most do

Gonna guess first order of call is to get on knees and kiss Florida's ass.

But Iger was in charge when woke star wars came out so I'm not sure what he's gonna do regarding the product but we will see.

Can you show some examples of the “pedophilic crap” that you feel is coming from Disney?

Recently or just overall? Many come to mind from the past...

Recently — stuff in general from the past is… questionable. The blatant racism and sexual items are prevalent

Yeah I haven't heard too much from the last 10-15 years worth of stuff. Most I know of is from the 80's and 90's.

Do you think it is a good thing that businesses need to pander to the local government or risk sanctions?

I think it's more about Disney getting itself into politics where it would be better for its share holders if it just remained neutral. As such yes...it needs to kiss some ass and back out of the room promising never to return.

You literally just described the pandemic and how businesses had to conduct themselves, which you fully supported. Lets try and be consistent here.

DeSantis efforts to destroy Disney seem to be failing.

Maybe you didn't know that it was Iger who spoke strongly against the Florida LGBT "Dont say gay" bill, while Chapek didn't do that until he was forced to speak up.

So you are ok with government punishing individuals and businesses for speech?

Can you show me ever supporting closing business or forced vaccinations?

The only thing I ever supported was private companies making their own policies for employees and patrons.

If you have to base your remarks about another’s position that you obviously have no clue of the premise is likely built on shaky grounds.

Would you like to go back and answer my question?

really, how do they do that?

it's republicans saying they want children to go to hooters to learn to be "alpha males" - weird, trying to sexualize children

    3 things

    1. You aren't supposed to make up your own stupid thread titles in Current Events
    2. 99.9% of "Disney Fans" would have no idea who the CEO of the company is
    3. This only matters if it helps Governor Death calls off his ridiculous vendetta on this truly American company...
