I've tried Beyond Burger but not Impossible. I've read that the Impossible is better so am looking forward to trying it. I liked Beyond and also like the new plant based ground beef substitutes that are out.

As far as trends go people might think the market rules but that's not quite the case. Companies basically tell consumers what they want and the market share for plant based products will continue to grow. They will be much cheaper to produce. It's far less expensive to simply grow the plant protein than to grow plants, feed them to cattle for a long period of time, process the cow and try to ship a safe product out of a very dirty process.

Eventually the die hards who want to stick with animal protein will find they are paying a very large premium for the privilege.

I've tried a couple, not convinced yet.

If there's one thing I've proven my life is that I'm going to eat anything. There's just no guarantee I'll eat it a second time.

My fiance is a nutritionist, gave me some of it.

The taste is a 6/10, it is "passable". To me however it is the texture/consistency, I absolutely hate it ....

But now that I am engaged to her we barely eat red meat as it is, so when we do I have zero qualms about it.

Now that we know for a fact the "worst" of the climate activist BS is fake hysteria, we can all breathe a sigh of relief.

I've had both the impossible and the beyond products. In a hamburger like sandwich the taste is better than many and while the texture isn't quite perfect, its more than acceptable. Its "digestive" effects are different. You don't get a heavy or greasy feeling at all.

It'll take time to acclimate to the "not quite right" reactions of one's expectations but its a giant step in the evolution of the extremely humble veggie burger.

5 Chemicals Lurking in Plant-Based Meats

Imagine a whole Disney world of kids going hyper and nuts because they've been fed additives... I wonder if they even realise what they're doing or the effect these processed foods have on some people..

Even your chosen biased and misleading link stated the following; “Are the chemicals in fake meat harmful? Probably not. But many people want to avoid them anyway.”. That is essentially a confession that this is based on irrational emotive reactions rather than any informed and intelligent consideration of the facts.

Literally everything is made from “chemicals”. Lots of them have long scary sounding names and lots of them have multiple uses (though often in very different forms, even though they have similar names). None of that automatically means anything about whether those chemicals are safe, beneficial or harmful in the context of any specific food product.

Do we really need to play the “dihydrogen monoxide” game again?

Do you eat meat burgers? Do you eat animals bred for fast growth and weight?
    What’s really in a McDonald’s hamburger?

    https://www.thankyourbody.com/mcdonalds-hamburger/

And this does not address how animals are treated and fed when alive.
    Concentrated animal feeding operation

Live near one of these sites and getting a cup of water from your tap, think about what went into that water :)

Thats what i dont get. Why fake beef when you can have beef? I tried out beyond at airport in Toyko and it was not good. It was ok to eat when hungry but defintly not a real burger.

Remove all the plant based additives like the bread, tomatoes, onions, cereal (which is part of the meat burger itself), gherkin etc from a meat burger and the burger would be tasteless. I stopped eating red meat many years ago as didn't particularly like it anyway and had animal welfare concerns. I gave up chicken a few years later as that started being tasteless due to the many additives and water that was pumped into chickens to make the meat heavier and chickens faster growing. Quorn chunks are so much more tastier than chicken and can be used wherever chicken is used. It is not fake chicken. Tofu? Tried it a couple of times, didn't like it.

If people want it at Disney, they can order it. As long as it isn't the only think on the menu, I'm fine with it. A smart restaurant offers what its customers want.

That is your choice and the choice of other Disney customers.

I've never tried them and I don't know how they taste but making plants taste like meat seems to be a lot of trouble when you can just eat meat.

Firstly, the recognisable taste in most burgers, sausages etc is from the main ingredient which is vegetable based much of it is to disguise the taste of the meat cuts actually used which is from the brain, liver, kidney, spleen etc all being parts of the animal no one wants to eat.

This is my reason for not eating meat:

you can lie to yourself if you want you can even believe it. But I've actually made my own hamburgers out of 100% beef and you can't tell me that the beef but I made my hamburgers out of is flavored with plants.

that's nice, I don't really care that much about animals they are food.

They mean nothing in the greater scheme of things

LOL I don't care what you made your burgers with, the topic is about fast food burgers. Do you add pepper to your burgers? Do you add tomato to your burgers? Do you add onions to your burgers? What oil do you use? What do you put your cooked burger into?

Do you make your burgers out of liver cuts, brain cuts, kidney cuts, offal, mashed bone?

Perhaps you really think that a Big Mac is made from 100% prime cut beef!

Oh, and you asked "If you want to eat something that tastes like meat why not just eat meat?" then discard an answer so you did not really want to know anyway which I guessed

the point was never about fast-food burgers. Honestly the first mention I've seen of that is you doing it right now.

You said burgers you didn't specify. I generally don't eat fast food so I wouldn't know.

yeah and i Put a bun on them to. That doesn't seem to me it doesn't taste like anything.

    stupid question.

I don't think anything about the big Mac I don't think I've ever even eaten one of those.

I just don't understand why adults would pretend to eat meat that's stupid. If you don't eat meat unsung religious or moral reasons why would you eat something that tastes exactly like it?

Why would people make such a thing. That's like making coffee that taste like beer it doesn't make sense.

I'm not a McDonald's fan... and if I were I would probably be a very sickly person. I do eat meat but prefer high quality lamb or beef, and eat that about twice a week.

No use trying to tell me I must eat these fake meat burgers... it will kill me.. and most likely send many children hyper

Well clearly you have no idea how sick these preservatives and additives make people. Not everyone react the same way either. This is the problem with you Vegans... you cannot for a moment consider anyone else
