Employees say Disney has become 'an increasingly uncomfortable place to work for those of us whose political and religious views are not explicitly progressive'

A group of anonymous employees at The Walt Disney Company (TDWC) has spoken out in an open letter, warning the company not to take political stances that alienate some workers and parts of Disney's audience, and claiming that Disney has become "an increasingly uncomfortable place to work" for those who don't agree with "explicitly progressive" policies.

The employees heaped praise on Disney, noting that "our work contributes to a fountain of wonder that inspires joy, awe, and delight in guests and audiences of all ages." However, they warned that "over the last few years, one group of cast members has become invisible within the company."

MAJOR CORPORATIONS HAD ‘WOKE’ TRAININGS EXPOSED IN 2021

"The Walt Disney Company has come to be an increasingly uncomfortable place to work for those of us whose political and religious views are not explicitly progressive," the employees wrote. "We watch quietly as our beliefs come under attack from our own employer, and we frequently see those who share our opinions condemned as villains by our own leadership."…

It is good that some Disney workers are standing tall for our beliefs and ideals. Disney has gone all in woke due to pressure from blue state leaders and the gay lobby within their employees. They are taking sides on issues opposed to red states leaders and heartland America’s beliefs and values. That traditional believers and conservatives within the company are speaking up and standing up is a good thing.

It is ridiculous for a publicly traded corporation to openly take sides on various culture and political issues. Particularly those doing business in multiple states or all of them. Turning nearly half the country and or near half your work force against it is not in the fiduciary interest of a publicly held corporation

A week or two ago some Disney employees were arrested for child sex trafficking. Add that to Disney’s hideously pro gay stance while operating a business that strongly targets kids and you just have to wonder if the stereotypes are true.

Just a thought, but they could work for someone else?
Exactly what do they want, for Disney to be completely neutral on all issues? In a free country, doesn't Disney have the right to take a stance of their choosing?
Would this apply to all other businesses, like Chic Fil A?

Disney is publicly-traded. Chick-fil-A is privately owned.

Sorry, but I don't understand what that would change. They are both employers. What would the ownership structure have to do with it?

It's not really a surprise considering Disney has expressed gratitude to those who run concentration camps in China. Takes a certain kind of mindset to do that.

Publicly-traded companies have a fiduciary responsibility to maximize shareholder returns. If the CEO is doing bone-headed political things that alienate half of his potential customers (and a substantial slice of his employees), he's failing at that duty.

Shareholders and the value of the company before and after such a taking of sides. I got a bunch of Disney stock when they bought a bunch of 20th century Fox assets and rode that to all time highs and then sold it all over stuff like this. It has not recouped all that it once had.

    1) Anybody who doesn't like working for Disney can quit at any time.
    2) Anybody who doesn't like Disney's "Woke Agenda" can boycott their content.
    ^Problem solved.:salute:

Agree, which is why they sometimes pander to the LGBTQ+ groups. The complaint is about employees, who work for Disney, feeling slighted by the stance their employer has taken.

That doesn't solve the problem for the shareholders. In fact, that IS the problem for the shareholders.

Last time I checked, Disney shareholders weren't complaining about share prices or dividends.

Then, for anyone who harbors those concerns, I would suggest that they sell the stock.

Disney has a right to take any stance it would like. Its employees likewise have the right to take any stance they would like. That includes lobbying their company to maybe shut the **** up about the politics.
The company does not have to comply.
