Do we have a right to breathe air?

    Well said.

    To be honest, and perhaps I am being rather harsh on my own species, however, I see us as a parasite, in the very true sense of the word, living off the host that is earth.

    A parasite doesn't actually contribute to it's host's well being.

    It weakens it, for it's own end.

    So, while some may not like the cold comparision, that is what we have chosen to become, we had the brain to make other choices, we had the advantage of a huge brain, and this is what we choose.

    We are also as relentless and bloated as any parasite would be.

    The only difference is that a parasite rarely kills the host entirely, while I feel it is possible that ravaging the oceans, sky, and earth, may actually make large parts of our planet literally dead.

    So maybe we are more of a cancer.

    Eating away and killing the very thing it relies on to stay alive.
