Do you know what I haven't heard about recently? The Great Reset. During the election season, then-presidential candidate Joe Biden ran on delivering a Great Reset for the economy after the Covid-19 crisis is over. So, with Biden and everything that's happening now, do you think there will be a Great Reset? Or will it be business as usual? Was this a campaign lie? Or, is it too soon to tell?

"You're going to own nothing. And be happy about it."

I remember the Marxist ads paid for by Democrats here.

When did the president get put in charge of the country's economy? I just re-read my US Constitution and there's nothing in there about it.

I think maybe it is a gradual program. First, Biden raises taxes, so you own less. Then he raises taxes some more, so you own a little bit less than that. Eventually, Biden's crackhead son is rich and everyone else is poor. I think that's how it works.

I tried telling Trumpists that for the past 4 years, but it never sunk in with any of them. Good luck.

Did Biden lie or was it his speech writer. Based on the policies he has suggested thus far it'll more likely be a great collspse

I've tried telling liberals this, too, and they don't listen either. Congress has more effect than the President, and even then, they are wholly incapable of successfully micromanaging the economy.

Politicians can have an effect on the stock markets there's no denying. All Biden has to do is come out and lose it bigly on camera once and it could start a market crash.

Temporary market fluctuations =/= the economy. Hell, there was even a mathematical formula for the way the market would take a dive every time Trump mentioned trade or tweeted. They called it the Volfefe Index. Trump "lost it bigly" every time he talked about trade, and our economy still survived just fine.

You're fine with the way the economy is then? Then tell your local politicians to leave it alone. And include Biden and Bernie Sanders.

I've long advocated free market principles. Where were you when Trump was interfering with the economy and making some of the most economically ignorant statements ever uttered by a president?

I was listening to Rush Limbaugh but then he died. That was a real shocker.

It shouldn't have been. A tragedy, maybe, but hardly a shocker. He was public about his diagnosis. Meanwhile, there is nothing more hilarious to me at the moment than Trump supporters who now claim that they care about the free market. Trump resurrected protectionism among the right . . . the very philosophy that capitalism arose to defeat back in the 1700s.

The government has three break pedals. Trump caused the government to let off two of them and jawboned the fed in to releasing the third. Biden is talking about pressing two of them to floor essentially rendering the third one irrelevant.

The great reset was never part of Biden's platform, nor has he voiced support for it. What on earth are you talking about?

What conservatives mean by a free market is they don't get taxed to death on their profits. What do you think Biden's upper limit on taxes is? Whatever you think it is double it and that's what it'll be in next year's budget.

Punitive? Tariffs are taxes paid by you and me.

    Tariffs are protectionist by definition.

Wait, you spent like 5 pages telling me how the low UE rate was all due to Trump and now you post this?

    Really?

    Mr. Consistent you are not.

Oh, I'm sorry, it was Davos of the World Economic Forum (The Great Reset | World Economic Forum (weforum.org)) who suggested a Great Reset of the economy. And, yes Biden did support some kind of reset during a speech, but I'm not going to look up where he said that. Unless you really need it.

Mentioning something in a speech once in a vague way isn't the same as making it part of your actual platform. Technically as long as Biden spends some money on green energy in his stimulus and infrastructure plans, he is technically doing a reset in the broad sense. Without specific proposals made by Biden, you really can't hold him to anything.
