I just wanted to ask this question because I thought it was pretty interesting considering that, when I stopped to ask myself, I really had no idea. What does the World Bank do? Where does it get the money to do it? What does it do with the money it gets? We already know what more ordinary banks do. We know what they are supposed to do and what they actually do. But does anyone know what the World Bank does? Specifically?
The World Bank supports international investment designed to reduce world hunger. Basically it is an international charity for countries. The money comes from various governments and goes to other governments in the form of loans and investments. It isn't a place to sign up for a checking account.
Its another prime example of a good idea that 60 years later has become a tool to use against the people!
