This has been the most protracted, painful, interminable election cycle ever. Being subjected to this divisive race to the gutter has damaged us. We as a country produced the two worst candidates imaginable, the same way a person consumes a lovely pinot noir and a side of Kobe beef only to hit the bathroom a few hours later. Next time let’s just dump them in the toilet and cut out the middleman. One surprising thing that I personally noticed in myself was a serious satisfaction in seeing Hillary squirm when she was presented with example after example of her judgment; when she was pressed on her set of leadership failures and decisions. It was really satisfying. It made me wonder if there isn’t some obtuse value in having Donald Trump run that I hadn't understood previously. He has shown a willingness to be a mouthpiece for people’s prejudices, their fears, their weird narratives, and their conclusions -right, wrong, otherworldly. There is something so refreshing about seeing a polished politician like Clinton have to interface with something like that. The fear behind that smile she pasted on was palpable to me. She just had no clue what was about to be said, even having prepared as much as she did; and there was no way she could prepare for the range of things that could potentially come out of his mouth. Trump found his place as the Court Jester; bringing satire, sinister exaggeration, some humor, and a (*)(*)(*)(*)ing show directly to our doorstep. Never meant to be president; never going to be president. Let’s call him what he is: a showman, among SO many other deplorable titles.
COURT jester! With all the liens and lawsuits stacked up waiting for him, he will be spending the rest of his life in court.
