Donald Trump has been indicted on criminal charges by a federal grand jury in a case that strikes at the former president’s efforts to remain in the White House after losing the 2020 election and undermine the long-held American tradition of a peaceful transfer of presidential power.

As part of special counsel Jack Smith’s investigation, Trump was charged with: Conspiracy to defraud the United States; conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding; obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding; and conspiracy against rights.

He is scheduled to appear at the Washington, DC, federal courthouse at 4 p.m. ET on Thursday.”

Well it took long enough. I think these will be the most difficult charges to prove, if all the indictments against him (so far). But they are amongst the most serious. And the most important.

What trump did was an attack on the fabric of American democracy. He has made America weaker.

Whether he will be held accountable remains to be seen. But make no mistake. He attacked America.

On point one in bold. I agree that it took long enough but I believe that was by design. The longer that Biden and the Democrat party can be left to lurk in the shadows, the better for the Democrat party.

on the 2nd and 3rd points in bold

    Who is POTUS?

I notice that we no longer see the term "insurrection" or "coup" being tossed around. The Democrat party and complicit media have over-played what was a riot/selfie-fest. One person DIRECTLY died from the selfie-fest, and she was an un-armed, Air Force veteran who was killed for the high crime of criminal trespass and destruction of public property. If you look into any penal code, you will not see capital punishment as the sentence for either of those crimes.

It was an insurrection. It meets the dictionary definition. He is being charged with conspiracy. So your deflections are noted but irrelevant.

Should we expect you to jump into this thread to tell us that capital punishment is not a sentence for broken tail lights?
