Exactly. It’s the secular progressive urban left elites who are the authoritarians in this country.

You are correct. Government elites have way too much power. They need to be reigned in by we the people through our votes.

Well, I used to work for an Iowa precinct during elections and one of my jobs was to verify that votes were legitimate votes.
See, once votes are cast, the task to determine if said votes are legitimate votes by any state election official is very hard to prove...Which is why, IMO, many politicians want to make pandemic rules voting permanent so voting can't be verified...So that the process of the election is as good as a free and fair election...The purpose of pandemic rules elections (in my learned opinion) is to cut out the main purpose of the general election which is to afford some semblance of democracy to American government.

BTW, when I hear that any politician is concerned about democracy, I snort in derision and bathe in the wonderment of hypocrisy on the part of politicians.

Lots of neocon members of the GOP are also authoritarian, er, these neocons aren't conservative as they claim...They're the opposite of conservative.

The elites I honestly think didn’t want a person outside of their ranks in the Whitehouse. They done everything they could to expel him because he wasn’t a career politician

Durham Asks Court To Compel Production From Clinton Campaign, DNC
    [IMG]
"The documents in question are being sought for the upcoming trial of Sussmann"...

Crooked Hillary's campaign, "the Democrat National Committee (DNC), and research and intelligence firm Fusion GPS" are "withholding documents that aren’t actually protected by privilege."

"the withheld materials lack any connection to actual or expected litigation or the provision of legal advice,” prosecutors told U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper, an Obama appointee who is overseeing the case."

"of the 1,455 documents being withheld by Fusion GPS, only 18 emails and attachments involve an attorney."

"Sussmann lid to the" Dirtbag "FBI falsely stating he didn’t hand over unsubstantiated claims about then-candidate Donald Trump on behalf of a client." The "client" was fat crooked drunken Hillary.

    Trial starts 5/16/22.

rehashing an old article today does not make the article "current."

It's still an old article, quite literally, I might add from the link.

All I see is Durham trying to bolser his case. Keep in mind, both are charged with "lying" or perjury under the Durham investigation. There is yet an actual charge of conspiracy. Even Durham does not have enough for that and has not charged anyone other than the "hired help."

The whole point of indicting the hired help is to compel them to turn on their employers. The more evidence Durham has, the more compelling is his position.

Not really. Lying or perjury has a maximum sentence of up to 5 years. With the new GOP led sentencing guidelines now, none of these people will serve any long jail sentences for a nonviolent crime in Federal Bureau of Prisons. More than likely, very little jail time, in a level one facility, aka club FED, probation, and possibly fines. And that's it.

Durham’s use of the term “joint venture” means “conspiracy”, so while it is just a word to the news media, it is a criminal charge to a prosecutor.

So what does that have to do with durham?

Perhaps, but there are specific requirements that have to be met for the conspiracy charge to stick. So far, it has not met all the requirements. It is still under the perjury charge and trying to justify Khis expense of trying to put a square peg in a round hole sort of thing.

Keep in mind, this new evidence is a response by the defendant that the case should be dismissed.

Durham wants to bring in the Steele Dossier into evidence, but even that can be problematic for getting a conviction of lying because it can open up Trump and his meeting with known Russian agents. Whether Trump knew who they were or not is still muddled because no one from the Trump organization or campaign at that time has been vetted. Parts of the Steele Dossier has been vetted by the ODNI and parts have not. The parts that have not been vetted came exclusively from Igor Danchenko, who BTW, was arrested.

And then you have the funding. The funding was originally a Republican Donor named Marco Rubio and the Free Beacon. When Trump became the GOP presumptive nominee, that is when the Democrats took over.

So, I would not count on any conspiracy theory here. It's way too problematic legally for Durham right now.

Perjury is not prosecuted any more in this country, except for ordinary people like Martha Stewart.

Brennan, Clapper and Fauci and many more perjure themselves on camera and nothing happens.

It's prosecuted when it becomes a crime. And there have been witnesses in trials prosecuted for perjury, lying to the FBI or any other federal investigation is prosecuted. Some federal employees have lost their jobs because they lied in an investigation.

None of the people you mentioned, Brennan, Clapper, or Fauci, have been charged or lied in an official investigation. It is your opinion that they lied just as it is my opinion you are lying to me right now.

No, it's not just my opinion that they lied.

The facts are that they lied. You missed it.

The facts are they were not prosecuted for their perjury. You rationalize that. Welcome to the world of Cognitive Dissonance.

So what do you think Durham meant by the term “joint venture” if you were defending?

    "Club FED" is a myth.
Not sure why any sentencing guidelines would be called "GOP led."
Fact is that a determined prosecutor can leverage charges to put real pressure on a target.

Your opinion is not fact. Fact would have to be in a court of law, not court of public opinion. Try again.

It really depends on the charges if leverage is to be used. Lying to an investigation is not much leverage in the real world. On the TV show FBI yes, but not in the real world. Remember, I was part of that judicial system and I have provided paperwork to federal prosecutors for lying by people who actually did lie in an investigation. There were a plethora of other charges like tax evasion and such, but lying in the investigation is usually icing on the cake, so to speak.

Criminal Justice reform, a party platform for Democrats, but in 2020, sentencing guidelines were reduced by a bill that was supported by the GOP in great numbers. The act that was passed and signed by President Trump was the First Step Act. In that act, nonviolent felonies got better sentencing guidelines where prison time was less likely. And as such, it is colloqually labeled as the GOP reform bill because it got most of what the GOP wanted.

Level one federal security is federal prison camp, aka Club FED. You stay in a dorm room, not a single person or two person cell like most prisons. There, that is where most white collar criminals, minor drug possessions, and other similar types of crimes are housed generally, unless you break the rules.

If I were defending, I would squash the Steele dossier as evidence and go with just the charges at hand. If Durham wants to file additional charges, then do so based on the evidence he has, otherwise, don't waste the valuable court's time with this nonsense.

If the Steele Dossier is filed, then as defense attorney I would get all the FBI and NDOI information that can be publicly used in trial to offset the allegations. There would be enough reasnable doubt in those documents to get an acquittal by a jury. Furthermore, I would go after the Free Beacon and Marco Rubio to testify why they started the dossier in the first place, among other things and why publicly available information being used amounts to conspiracy. Again, reasonable doubt would be almost assured.

    Like I said, it's problematic
