That's what I heard about 3 hours ago. He will face murder charges. The other guy (with the gun) will probably get more serious charges eventually.

 

i also like the laws that charge each participant in the crime with the murder, even if only one had the gun and fired it... now if they'd only stop pardoning these scum...

 

A passenger could safely video, or a photo could be taken from a stop. Either way calling the police and maintaining a safe distance would have been wise.

Except that's not what happened, is it?
Citizens are not authorized for high speed pursuits over eggings. Rape, kidnapping, murder. These are the things you can intervene to stop in traffic like this if doing so is reasonably necessary. I suppose you could also stop a car jacking or someone stomping someone's face in the street or similar. That's not the case here.

If these kids were in California the only real charges they would be facing would be throwing eggs that didn't come from a PC chicken ranch.

I don’t know, they’re not that large a portion of the general population. I’m guessing it’s a young white male from an up middle class home. I was one too. Not being racist or some such. Just sounds like the actions of a bored suburban kid.

See the above statutes I posted. Its a fairly broad standard, there are few states with stronger statutes.. The circumstances in this case did not merit a response of deadly force. Certainly once they had taken flight and were no longer throwing eggs, there is no cause to further pursue them, even if one could make the argument that throwing eggs in the first place warranted a threat of deadly force as to merit the brandishing of the arm.
