If you expect billionaires and political weasels to save the Earth, then you’ll love the World Economic Forum at Davos, Switzerland. The Swiss government assigned up to 5,000 Swiss troops to protect its attendees — except from prostitutes charging them $2,500 a night. Self-worship is obligatory in Davos.

John Kerry, Joe Biden’s special presidential envoy for climate, hailed his fellow attendees as “extraterrestrial” for their devotion to saving the Earth. Never mind that they all flew there on private jets.

WEF is whooping up the “Great Reset” — “ ‘building back better’ so that economies could emerge greener and fairer out of the pandemic.”

But people around the globe are still recovering from the last time WEF stampeded policymakers. “WEF was hugely influential, championing every form of COVID control from lockdowns to vaccine mandates,” observed Jeffrey Tucker, president of the Brownstone Institute.

The liberal left lie that billionaires are conservatives or allied with us is thoroughly exposed here. There really is a globalist elite and they aren’t even trying to hide it anymore. Furthermore, in order to take away your "freedoms" does that have to pass Congress and with the President signing into law? And that will not happen anytime soon, will it? Anyone trying to plan for a longer timeframe than a human lifetime are going to seem like they don't care about the common person who is being asked to sacrifice for their long term goals.

There are plenty of bad people at Davos, but most of them are just trying to solve problems that aren't going to impact most of us directly.

It appears from the quotes that the forum was about abusing COVID to silence objections to the dogma they've embraced for the purpose of cashing in on COVID more than they already have.

 

A former VP and an ambassador have zero authority to revoke your freedoms, Jefferson. Davos has been going on since 1971 and is participated by the US each and every year. Oh hell, even Trump spoke there once when the theme was globalization. The point of the whole forum is for an exchange of ideas and to come to a consensus on global economic issues. This year's theme is cooperation in a fragmented world. And that is not taking your "rights" away.

Plenty of reasons for the right to dislike them, but from the left a few points:

1. They are open to literally any solutions that don't involve taxing their wealth.

2. Their carbon footprint is probably the largest per capita of any organisation on planet Earth.

3. They only allow journalists they like and will give favorable coverage to attend.

4. Capture of democratic institutions.

5. Practically all big multinationals are involved.

When you consider that Biden not only handed Xi our advantage in petroleum reserves but announced his willingness to render our massive natural gas reserves useless, both supporting Xi's desire for world domination, I don't understand why Biden isn't being impeached for treason.

 

Well, for starters, banning gas stoves is not something that Davos was talking about here. Second, it is a United States Agency, the EPA that is considering this rule. Third, the main reason for this consideration is safety. Gas leaks are silent and deadly. Many of the pipes in the NE, for instance where cities are starting to ban gas stoves, are over 100 years old. Replace them would not be cost-effective if those areas want to continue installing gas AND electric lines in the homes and apartments. But at the same time, Biden has publicly stated he does not want to ban gas stoves nationwide and it is another faux outrage by the far right.
