http://p.washingtontimes.com/news/2012/jan/6/emily-gets-her-gun-part-2/?page=all#pagebreak It is pretty clear that DC really does not want to comply with Heller v DC.
After Heller won his law suit, the city council promptly reclassified his gun as a 'bottom feeding' gun, the same class as machine guns. Expect trickery and deceit from fun control advocates.
To get a gun, you need to pass a test. A test you can't take in DC. It has to be from a list of approved instructors. A list that is out dated and some instructors on the list no longer in business, but new instructors can't seem to get on the list. Then fill out a 22 page packet. While 500 feet across the Potomac you don't need a license to carry a gun in public and is one of the most safe cities in the USA, while living in DC is more dangerous than being a soldier in Iraq.
I'm afraid my sarcasm may not have been clear. I was irritated recently when I had to wait for a cool-down period to get a new handgun, even though I bought two others just days before in another state. The hassle DC puts its residents through is a clear attempt to kill 2nd amendment rights through bureaucracy.
