If there's international air traffic around, communications between ATC and aircraft should be held in one common language which is usually English.
It's not mandatory that all communications will solely be held in English. The ICAO requires a proficiency scheme to ensure that pilots and controllers are able to speak English clearly; the reason? English can be requested on demand from pilots...

Otherwise, it's perfectly acceptable to communicate in other languages between aircraft and ATC.

I just put that chart up to anoy the poster who said the English speaking world would lose.

The US is the leader of the English speaking world, so you don't want to lead. And please tell me of the Anglo alliance is a bad thing?

British Isles has 2 nations in it.

Plus most people in South Africa hate the British. Also the problem is their is not 1 English language, their is many. Also every speaks with a different accent, mainly in the UK.

The US is becoming less of a western nation with each passing year. The demographics will have the effect of pulling America towards Latin civilization over time.

Not the whole of the US, just the south. And the us government and law, will still by more anglo than south American. Still only 53 million Americans are Hispanic, over 130 million are white. It's more of a problem in Canada and Australia than the US.
