Can you provide an example of something that happened in the US 50 years ago?

Followers of the strictly scriptural Christian Faiths if you like. I realize Fundamentalism is actually a misnomer, being a Faith based on The Fundamentals, a Testimony to the Truth but I'm using it in the former sense for convenience.

Yep, got a signed affidavit, right here.

Seriously, they send their whole family around to "talk about Jesus" every Sunday. I think their telling their kids that converting their friends at school is also their Christian Duty is a logical extrapolation,

When one posts non credible stories that have been previously debunked many times it should be called out and not just with a counter argument. A debate is when they are two sides of an argument there are no two sides, what is alleged has already been proven wrong.

How do you know that "they do it on their parents say so?"

Who sends their whole family around to talk about Jesus every Sunday?

Maybe they do it on their own, they're not supposed to. I don't like outsiders polluting my children's religious upbringing. I've raised my kids as either atheists or Roman Catholics, the next best thing,

I think it's mainly Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses, though there have been others. I dunno, they've pretty much stopped since I started answering the door naked.

Not supposed to? Haven't you heard of free speech?

Yeah, you don't have to like it, neither do other parents, but kids will talk to other kids - that's life.

That is literally THEE most confusing sentence I've ever read! So atheism is your religion? And Catholicism is too? What the hell?

Okay, so you mean mean going around door to door, but what do you mean "they send their whole family around?"

Neither have most muslims, even those living in muslim countries don't try to forcibly convert others as a rule. I believe actual forcible conversion is forbidden by most orthodox forms of Islam though the rule actually seems more honored in the breach. Islam does forbid polytheism rather strictly though.

I was raised Catholic and became atheist. Catholics have this undeserved reputation of being religious because the religion has so many rules and such an involved worldwide hierarchial structure that if you follow it strictly it's like being in the Army, but just for that reason most Catholics don't follow it all that closely. Catholicism is sort of a default religion with most of its members and it shades over into a sort of Atheism with a just-in-case clause as you get older. To give an example I actually look forward to Lent, because I really like the Fish Fries.

Christian missionaries engage in forcible conversion? Surely you can't be serious.

There is no compulsion in islam - words ignored by all kinds of muslim rulers over the centuries.

Gee, guess muslim leaders behave exactly like christian leaders - spiritual piety selectively interpreted and applied in suport of their own power politics.

I'm "fallen away" as the saying goes. I still go to Mass when my cousins visit and Ilike my Oyster and Ham suppers as much as I used to, but I've not been a regular parishioner for some years now. A large part of that is due to my extreme disagreement with the Papacy on abortion and even more on birth control

It's all fake news. It's just 1 class who paid a visit to a mosque as part of their religious studies which isn't focused on Islam.
And this is raped by the right wing that 100's of children are made to pray every day.
The Netherlands is a free country. You can't be forced to pray.

    DUH!

To be honest, nothing. No , I wont' go back, not ever, not even if they come out and say Abortions okay. Hell, not even if they say I can look at women without risking eternal damnation. Religion bores me, bores me to tears. This is the main thing I could never understand about religious people, do they ENJOY church, or what? Even Mark Twain wrote a whole article on how NOBODY enjoys Church yet that's what they describe Heaven as being, for Eternity. For me the end came when I realized that I no longer had to be an usher just so I could hang out outside and smoke cigarets but could just eschew the whole thing and go to the bar an hour earlier without having to even change clothes.

It fairly obviously proves that the children were not being forced to do anything, particularly pray Quite a few of the little girls were giggling and nobody beheaded them or anything.
