    I ignore most of his "political attack of the day on Obama" but he has ventured into Birther territory, and I take the time to refute that particularly vile brand of idiocy.

    Various of our Obama-Hating luminaries on this site seem to think we know NOTHING of Obama's past, yet somehow the Right KNOWS Obama gave away some ice cream as a teenager??? They EVEN know his boss didn't SAY he could, or that Obama covered it himself! Truly astounding!

    Mr. Vogt (note the spelling) is a scanner salesman. He has no obvious expertise in any field even vaguely related to electronic image forensics.

    That's one possibility. Another is that it was caused by the "Optimize" function of any decent scanning software.

    Mr. Vogt (note the spelling) is not qualified to make that assessment. In fact, the only actual forensic computer image expert who as ever commented on the birth certificate is Dr. Neal Krawetz, and he points out that "First, digital document analysis can detect manipulation, but it cannot determine whether the original subject is authentic. The authenticity can only be determined by the State of Hawaii, and they already said that it is authentic."

    That Mr. Vogt (note the spelling) doesn't seem to know this is merely one of many demonstrations that he is actually an incompetent amateur.

    The problem here is that Mr. Vogt (note the spelling) does not have two documents to compare. He only has two different scans of the same document. Where I come from, we actually expect that a document is usually identical to itself. Apparently, this expectation is not the same in Birthistan.

    For those who have not read the transcript of the hearing, one the best parts is where Mr. Vogt (note the spelling) refuses repeatedly to give Orly Taitz the answers she wanted.

    Seriously. What lawyer goes into a court without having even checked ahead of time to find out what their own witnesses are going to say?

    Close... but no cigar.

    Millions of illegal aliens may have obtained SSNs. But they are not fake. The fact that (as you note) they pay taxes on them mean the SSNs are genuine.
