Exxon Mobil will not allow LGBT or BLM flags to fly outside its office buildings

Exxon Mobil will no longer allow its offices to fly flags expressing adherence to or membership of “outside organizations” on company flagpoles, the New York Times reported.

The new policy, which prevents employees from hanging LGBT+ pride and BLM flags on the flagpoles on company premises, is angering some of Exxon Mobil’s employees who in the past have flown gay pride flags outside of Exxon Mobil offices.

Exxon Mobil will only be allowing governmental, company, and employee resource group (ERG) flags to fly outside of its facilities.

This is good news. Disney should be listening. It’s time that corporations stay neutral. The days of woke corporations may finally be wrapping up.

 

This is as it should be. No company wants to be exposed as Disney was.

They don't have a list of banned flags...they offer a definition for flags that can't fly 100%.

I'm reading it that identity flags can be flown on flag pole during signature months. Otherwise they are not allowed on the premises. It a bit confusing how the article is written.

It may have been clearer in another article. Company flag only on the flag poles, banners ok for identity events.

 

As a straight white male this is deeply disturbing. Nothing makes me happier than thinking of two homosexual males engaged in lewd acts while filling up for gas. I hope Exxon reverses course...

Even though EM is clearly a RW dominated organization and one of the easiest company's in the world to boycott, this probably isn't the worst decision in the world, even though it's patently simple pandering to the simple...

I think the Confederate flag supports Racism, so if any other flag is gonna be banned, that one should be

that said, I have no issue with banning all flags from the flag pole other than the American flag

 

Corps should also stay neutral with their money; none to politicians or political groups. That's the real issue that's plaguing the average American since Citizen's United ruling.
