Fact check: Trump, telling a completely fictional story, falsely claims he released ‘the tape’ of his Zelensky call

What a surprise. Trump continues down the road of “alternative facts”. If the truth hurts, just pretend it doesn’t exist and make up a completely BS story that makes you look good.

The problem is that many of his lemming supporters believe what he says. Even when confronted with conclusive evidence that he is lying, they believe his words over the truth. Biggest example of this is his lies about the 2020 election. Millions still believe his lie that the election was stolen.

He complains about “fake news” but he is projecting.

The appalling behavior and lies of this guy are just beyond belief. And regarding the subject of his fans believing this, forget it. When he lies like this, the Conservative news outlets simply dismiss it. Sure enough - I searched this topic on FOX News - nothing. This is why these people reside in their own universe.

The 'controversy' was meaningless then, and meaningless now. Back in 2014, 97% of us American adults voted NO to funding in Ukraine. All Trump did, was do what we all would've done back in 2014(and should still do now.)

There's no meaning to the Battle of Europe, from our prospective it had long been settled. For those to whom it isn't settled(EU/Ukraine and Russia), I suggest they get together in a room and hash it out.

Interesting prospect, and I agree to some extent. You can use your last sentence as a solution to any war in history. How to make that happen is the question. Divine intervention? That may be the only way.

That said, this is how the South African apartheid war was finally ended. Archbishop Desmond Tutu got both sides together and they started talking. History shows that the discussions were extremely emotional, with many shared tales of horror. But all that venting, and a modern-day miracle, somehow brought them together. I'm sure there are still a lot of issues, but certainly life is better today.

Your beloved fuhrer is Putin’s bitch.

Was before he got into politics.

    Is now.

And your messiah has convinced you to wish that we betray the legacies of Roosevelt, Churchill, and Reagan.

As for your “Battle of Europe”……..that’s what they said in 1914, and 1941.

Right thats why he attacked Ukraine when Trump came into power.... oh wait nevermind he did that when Joe won. Looks like voting for Joe caused Ukrainians to lose their lives.

The only proof is wait and see. Why take the risk?

Europe does have some historical basis: The Congress of Vienna. That Congress came together after the fall of Napoleon, and it settled things for a century(up until WWI). Mostly because even the vanquished French got a seat at the table.

By contrast, Versallies led into WW2. We should aim for a Vienna, not a Versallies.

Well that has nothing to do with the thread.

Here’s the point: Trump is completely rewriting history. Making up stories that are completely untrue. He is the biggest purveyor of “fake news” in the country.

Doesn’t it trouble you that he’s completely divorced from reality?

Lol! It's that simple, owned and operated by the Kremlin. A "useful idiot" made it in the WH once.....let's keep it that way.

Cool! It's rare, and I would welcome it anytime. I know Macron, the president of France, tried to bring everybody together on Ukraine about 6 months ago. I believe the Turkish president actually arranged a meetup between the parties, acting as a moderator. There have been efforts. You can blame it on Biden, but don't you think that a European leader should be the negotiator or moderator? They are closest to heartbeat of the situation, and they are taking in most of the refugees. Even the president of China tried to negotiate (or met with?) with Putin and Zielinsky separately.

There have been efforts, those efforts should ideally continue. And we ourselves should IMO be front and center of those efforts. I don't blame Biden as much as I blame the Pentagon and the State Department. Nothing but a bunch of paper pushers. The reason we ended up getting the Accords is that Trump actually made them work and it was like "Oh ****, we actually have to do something."

Save those 4 years, in our adult lifetimes we can count on one hand the number of deals we'd seen the US achieve.

Considering Trump's mental decline, it's possible he legitimately thinks he DID release it. It's hard to say, since the man is also a chronic liar.

    You misunderstand.
    Trump didn't mean to lie.
They're just taking his words and saying he said them.
It's all part of the MSM conspiracy.

    funny...
I don't remember an election about Ukraine in 2014.

Perhaps you could provide a link of some sort?

    AND
You're saying we should have tried to extort a false "investigation" from the UKR president in 2014?
Maybe you could explain that one too?

Hmmm what conversation are you talking about because he specifically authorized it to be released with little to no redaction?

    “Readout” =/= tape.

And he is completely off with the timing. He is literally making things up.

In fact, it’s got to the point that if he says something, you can be fairly confident it isn’t true.
