I'm partial to Pastrami or Reuben's, on rye.

...and a nicely chilled stout. ;)

    Yum!

The DeNiro Hero: Cold fried eggplant, fresh mozz and sweet peppers. Robert DeNiro used to eat those while filming "A Bronx Tale" in Astoria NY so they named it after him. It's also vegetarian.

    I'm a cheese guy also.But I can't get worked up over Mozzarella.I know it's much
better when it's authentic and fresh. But It doesn't taste right. It's chewy and
lacks aroma and texture.I think it'a an Italian thing.Italians are very given to
peer pressure. It's like a club. One Italian likes something ... They ALL like
that somethin.Germans are the same way.
Now ... Us Czech's ... were a tad more individual. We All Like our Hookers
the same.Hot & Strumpin and like sexy as a fresh homemade Pizza straight out the
Oven.Even smells good enough to eat.
W/o any Mozzarella ... of course.

    Well,...

Most people haven't had real mozarella in their entire lives...

What most folks buy at the market is marketed as "authentic Italian mozarella" ~ but it is made out of cow milk. This is the so-called "Mozarella fior di latte".

Real mozarella is made with buffalo milk, the mozarella di bufala ~ it has way more taste than the previous one (a bit sour).

All of the mozarella made out of Italy, and the specific region it orginates from, is made out of cow milk for sure. Pasteurized milk!!!

I personally like cheese as well, but the only Southern cheese I really, really, like and we often have at home is "Manchego".
=> again, Americans have never eaten it despite it being sold there -- it isn't the real thing (made out of cow milk and not sheep milk).

For the rest I mainly eat Belgian cheeses -- we have more kind of cheeses than e.g. France! :omg:

I just made my "boterhammen" to take with me to work tomorrow:

6 slices of bread -- tiger bread -- in total (in the USA, "tiger bread" is also known as "Dutch crunch", "Dutch crust" or "Dragonette bread" ~ Wikipedia).

    (1) a double with old Gouda-and-musterd-seeds; (2) a single with salami with extra garlic: (3) a single with chicken-and-fine-herbs; (4) a single with fresh-cheese-and-fine-herbs; a single with praliné-choco as dessert to sop in my coffee *mmm* (y'all call it hazelnutspread -- so here it is a mix of praliné and hazlenut).

    Mmmm. Advocado...

In my family we have a "tradition" every other 2 months orso for breakfast on saturday.

We toast some bread, butter them extensively, put advocado on it and throw a little salt over it.

    => FABULOUS!

This Country really doesn't have great cheese.Yes,the Vermont cheddar is
fine. But France has those splendid Cheese like Brie and Camembert.Nothing like
'em.of course a little tin foil wrap like Boursin can go a long way.
My favorite of all cheese is the Brit ... STILCHESTER a layered cheese very pretty
    consisting of Bleu cheese {Stilton} and Double Gloucester {Britains famous cheddar}
It is hearty, very flavorfull and rich but not overly Rich.I don't like overly rich cheese.
Stilton on it's own is too rich, for example.chester
I went on tour of a little Edam Cheese plant {Holland}. it kinda grossed me out.
The way the cultures are just in some room and flies everywhere.Of course it
doubled as a farm also. Not to be confused with this Pop Stand.

Yes,Liverwurst or Braunschweiger is pretty good stuff.it is hearty enough to
eat alone on mo9st any bread. With a smear of nice mustard and added pickles
or onion it is all by it's lonesome practically a meal.I find that smearing braunschweiger
on nice bread and adding some cold cut like salami or swiss cheese w/dijon mustard.
Braucnschweiger is about the most inexpensive and deliciously hardy stuff one can
purchase. If one is on a fixed budget it really goes a long way.
My favorite cold cut is Yachtwurst.

I want to have lunch with Janpor. I love open face sandwiches. When I stay with family in Germany we often have a sharp cheese with a sweet jam. We also have an extremely fine type bologna with champignons in it. I have tried to find it in the States to no avail.

The Fried Oyster sandwich at Papa Joe's in Apalachicola is a must when I'm down that way...

The New York Steamer (#3) at Firehouse Subs is a weekly treat....Corned beef brisket, pastrami, melted provolone, mustard, mayo, and Italian dressing...heart attack in a toasted sub roll

I've rediscovered the plain old peanut butter and blackberry jam sandwich.

    Bacon, egg and cheese

    Fried Grouper.

    Meat loaf.

my mother's roast beast au jus

Fresh sliced tomato, salt and mayo on wheat toast....

    Sandwiches are love!

I,too, when in the States have no avail.Butts I also tend to not leave the States
mush.Be that as it May Ellen, the States need to be better accomodating.
However places like Milwaukee still have great Brewery and homemade style
    sausage factory.Like Usinger's
Feinschmeckers { Gourmets ... don't try that at home } can chose between many
European-style wurst and authentic beerwurst and different bratwurst.
I bought as pack of weiners yesterday because it's like summer now.
I usually only buy 1 or 2 pack a year as weiners are kinda bad fer ya.
But I couldn't resisist.Oscar Meyer has NEW Deli style authentic weiners.
A New York style and a Chicago style.I got the Chicago.Man ... they good.

Nothing better for me than a Prawn Sandwich...Shrimp (Prawns), Romaine Lettuce, Sliced Tomatoes w/light Garlic and Ranch Dressing on Whole Grain Flax Seed Bread. Yummy!

Alternatively, I sometimes replace the Shrimp with Frog meat, so I guess I also like Frog Sandwich's.

    Reuben's are really good too.

Frequently, a BLT will do it for me, but if I am really hungry a burger (can be a veggie burger) with big slices of mild onion on buttered bread. In season, I use green onions, which are even better.
