The media is feasting on this right now, causing more panic than in warranted. They are not doing so as a civic service, they are doing it to gather clicks and views. They are in effect being the "greedy" capitalist they so often rail against. As always the hypocrisy of the left on full display, al you have to do is look to see it.

Thats what American media is: an advertisement delivery system. It's been that way as long as I've been alive. Doesn't diminish the fact that covid-19 is a national emergency. If we don't take drastic steps now, Italy and Iran will be bastions of good health by comparison to the USA.

I am unsure what some people think the president should be doing? I heard that he took the whole thing lightly at first, but this wasn't what I experienced, so maybe it's a matter of opinion. After the Russian hoax, the Ukraine hoax, and the impeachment failed, the left is hoping to blame corona on Trump to save doomed November election. Worst fear is that this will be the end of the open borders dream.

 

basically the currently reported case has lag time of 15-20days, fatality is 1 per 100, and it take 20days for avg person to die, that mean the person die got it 20 days ago. meaning there were around 100ppl infected 20 days ago, since its 1 out 100 death. use this analysis we can estimate current infection rate using math models. when you have large amount of death 8000 so far, you can get an good estimate since the database is large. the larger the database the more accuracy.

I am very concerned of my others, as a business owner with a very high public frequency I have to take care of my employees, they are my responsibility. I get up at 5 and drive in town, because I am a senior and senior can shop from 7 to 8, I shop for my employees, before the insane storm the stores and plunder them.
A young Lady at the hardware store, cashier, told me she can not get milk for her child, because when she gets of work its sold out. I did my senior shopping and brought her the milk she needs. I do senior shoping form my senior customers and deliver free of charge.
We have to stay separated, but we still can pull together and than we get it done.

 

Anyone who thinks that this is just the left wing media in the US stoking panic in order to raise clicks is not paying attention.
This is worldwide and those still not taking it seriously are a danger to society.
Same with those hoarding far more than they need and depriving others of essential goods.

Anyway, amidst what is the usual propaganda, this report is actually referring to something that is true. While initially the top leadership in Iran, including the revolutionary guards, were at least equally responsible for preaching a message of "all is fine, this is just like the flu" (mainly to encourage voter turnout in parliamentary elections), today it is the administration of president Rouhani which is standing against the kind of measures that need to be taken to better bring the virus under control. Worried of losing their authority and power to the military, they are putting the health and well being of the country at huge risk, even refusing to take measures like the ones already taken practically everywhere else and relying instead mainly (besides closing schools, shrines and public events) on 'self-policing' and around the clock information about the virus.
