We all know about pigs gone wild that roam all over the Midwest and South. But, how about the millions of those cute kitties who are growing up wild in towns, cities, and countrysides throughout America? What to do with them? This article should interest those who're affected by them @ http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news...cats-vs-birds-battle-20140329,0,3346890.story
trap, neuter, release. I have three feral cats who have been living in my yard for about seven years - all fixed. I feed them twice daily & have provided shelters for the winter - very low-cost ones, but effective. I guess each shelter costs about $12.00 and lasts at least two years. Scrounge two wooden shipping pallets. Put one on the ground & put cinder blocks on opposite sides (about 3/side). I orient the open sides so they don't face the prevailing wind direction. Put in straw. Cover with the other pallet, cover the whole thing with a tarp (the most expensive item assuming you can't scrounge one), weight down the tarp & that's it. You can also use the shelter top to store any lawn tools/stuff you don't bring inside. This keeps the stuff off the ground. I take any excess straw & put it in an old shed on the property, which the cats also use for shelter. Most communities have organizations which will help you with the trap/neuter business.
