I wouldn't count on that. I'm a Florida resident. And I'm strongly in favor of SSM. As are most of my friends. In fact, I saw on the news just recently that a poll shows 75% of Floridians are in favor of it.

Your old ways are dead.

I was referring to the overwhelming majority of Hispanics (millions of people). And you are referring to one person. Not difficult to see who should be taken seriously here and who shouldn't. I'm thinking you're being less than intelligent.

Oh yeah, my old, new and always ways are dead among the subscribers of the South Florida Gay News (where your laughable 75% comes from), bu that has about as much relevance as a rock in the bottom of a pond. :giggle:

Under current Florida law, same-sex marriages, civil unions, and domestic partnerships are not recognized. Same-sex marriage and civil unions were constitutionally BANNED on November 6, 2008, with 62% of the vote.In Florida. At least 60% of the population must approve a ballot measure for it to become the law. With 62% of the legislators voting to ban SSM, that would leave only 20% favoring it (since 18% did not vote). Your new ways are alive, but are in a coma, on life support. :giggle:

Personal attack violation of rule 2, using a slur word ("homophobia") , and an offensive affront to all us who suffer from REAL phobia afflictions. Reported to forum.

When the feds decided to extend marriage benefits to all legally married couples, regardless of their state of residence, that rendered that constitutional amendment all but moot. And when SCOTUS overturn DOMA Part II, and that is a foregone conclusion, it will remove the one remaining tooth that it has. So, for the time being, same sex couples can not actually get married here. But those who get married elsewhere are in fact married here. Soon enough, that amendment will be struck down as well.

>>>MOD EDIT: INSULT<<<

They are "laughable" in pretending laughs, make-believe laughs by those who pretend that homosexuality is normal and is supported by most people in America, based on phony polls. But when the counts are not phony, as in official elections (the "polls" that really matter) homosexuality routinely loses.

Poll after poll shows public support for same-sex marriage steadily increasing, to the point where it looks as if it where a majority viewpoint. Yet, in all 32 states where gay marriage has been on the ballot, voters have rejected it. These elections are the proof which you and your cohorts are in denial of, and are the only REAL polls.

All you're doing is making unsubstantiated, wild, looney claims of what might happen in the future. I'm tlaking about the REAL here and now. SSM is BANNED in Florida and NO, that feds decided to extend marriage benefits to all legally married couples, regardless of their state of residence, that absolutely did NOT render that constitutional amendment all but moot. You still cannot marry SSM here, and any marraige you have, is not recognized as a marriage, no matter what the federal govt (Obama administration- a temporary situation) says about "benefits". As far as your ludicrous notion that Florida's ban on SSM will be struck down :roflol:, don't bet your house on it. :roflol:

And you are now reported for using the PHONY slur word "homophobe", an offensive affront to all us who suffer from REAL phobia afflictions, as I do (agoraphobia).

The overwhelming majority of Hispanic voting US citizens support gay rights and a plurality support SSM. 70% of them voted for a pro-equal marriage President. Fact.

Your personal experiences don't match up to the overall reality.

Good luck with that.

Hilarious that someone who whines about "ageism" and goes crying to mommy moderator all the time (a 67 year old!) is taking offence to being labeled "homophobic".

Would you mind if another man touched your arse or kissed you in a joking fashion?

I think you would. That's homophobia. Fear of or irrational aversion to homosexuality, not necessarily gay people.

Why do you recycle this now-obsolete right-wing talking point? Are you that misinformed?

In 2012, voters in Maine, Maryland and Washington approved same-sex marriage at the ballot box. In Minnesota voters rejected a constitutional amendment defining marriage as being between a man and a woman.

From here on out, any votes held on SSM will be down to advocates pushing for the people to get another say.

Every word you utter is wrong. Married same-sex couples don't have equal federal benefits just because Obama decided to do so on a whim, they did so on instruction from THE SUPREME COURT.

You talk like just your pretentious words are going to change everything. I've been hearing these pretentious words from pro-SSM homos for 30 years or more, and this idiocy is still banned in 37 states, and as more and more Hispanics immigrate in, that number will steadily rise to 50. I estimate it will be banned in every state + the US govt. (after Obama leaves), by around 2020,at the very latest. :-D

Homos cant make things become what they want just by saying it. It has to happen in the legislatures, and they represent normal people, not homos. And when homos do bigotry against normal people, calling us "homophobes" and other dirty words, those homos reduce their popularity with legislators, still more. And it sure doesn't help when they engage in ageist bigotry, disparaging everyone in the world over 65 years of age. But this is the reality of homos being homos, in 2013.

Hey Protectionist, I thought you were ignoring me? :roflol:

My words may not, but the will of the people, the MAJORITY who support same-sex marriage will.

If the US held national referendums its likely SSM would be legal in all 50 states by now.

And how much has changed in 30 years? Those "pretentious" words have lead to an entierely different world which you refuse to see. Lets look at the advances:

• Gays and lesbians can serve in the military (2010).
• Homosexuality is legal in all states (2003).
• Federal hate crime inclusion for gays and lesbians (2009).
• Federal recognition of same-sex relationships (2013).
• SSM legal in 13 states, with many more to come (2004-present).
• Openly gay members allowed in Boy Scouts.
• Solid majorities of the public who support gay people, gay rights, marriage equality and consider homosexual relationships "morally acceptable" (Gallup).
• Positive representation of LGBT people in shows like Modern Family, The New Normal, Glee, ect.
• Election of many openly gay people to public office.

30 years ago, none of that existed. NONE OF IT. Even 10 years ago there wasn't a lot in the way of LGBT advancement. So unless you've been living under a rock for the past decade, it's clear to see what those "pretentious" words have accomplished. :D

An ever-decreasing figure. Used to be 50, now it's 37. 36 after Hawaii, 35 after New Jersey, 34 after Illinois, 33 after New Mexico... ;)

You said previously 13 states was the ceiling for marriage equality and we'll never win any more. Are you going to retract that statement or continue to destroy whatever shred of credibility you have left?

Already proven BS.

You're going to be extremely disappointed :roflol:

Not even the most ardent of SSM opponents thinks that.

When SCOTUS declares SSM a Constitutional right, it won't even matter if support for it suddenly dips. There's NO model apart from Protectionist's own personal predictions projecting a decrease in support.

It's simple logic...

Most older people are against it.
Most (80%+ of) younger people are for it.

Figure it out lol. We know where you fit into that.

It's the best example of self-delusion I've ever seen. It demonstrates how the mind can create its own "reality" when it really, really doesn't want something to be true.

I ignore where and when I choose.

As for your pathetic Post # 390, mostly just silly stuff going by paid-for polls, all thoroughly refuted by the REAL polls >> ELECTIONS. :giggle:

That's EXACTLY what all you homos are doing. Exactly that.

Me pointing out that your commentary is 'homophobic' (which it often is), has zero to do with attacking you. And considering the topic at hand... it's germane.

And who puts the SCOTUS where they are ? That's a rhetorical question. I'll answer it. The anti-SSM guys who will replace Obama in the not-too-distant future. Get it ? :-D

Amen.

As a gay person, I'll say this:

Not ALL gay people are normal, but neither are all straight people.

That's clear and real enough for most people.

Your use of >>> "YOUR expressions of..." constitutes a personal attack.

Verdict ? GUILTY as charged.

That what YOU are. Floating around on a cloud of pure homo pretense.

I can attack whatever you write here. I think the rules allow for that. And since the topics on homosexuality (such as this one) remain controversial, it is surely expected that people will disagree and attack various ideas, thoughts and values shared.

That is reality.

You GO girl! *click click* ;)

You couldn't resist another dose of reality I suspect. I think your logical mind knows everything I say is true, but that bigoted, ignorant part of you is fighting for survival by blocking it and attempting to resist all the truth and common sense being fired at you.

More BS. You haven't provided any polls showing "hardly anyone in America"
supports marriage equality, much less any evidence that all the other polls (including the right-wing ones :roflol:) are bought and paid for.

You make this up as you go along. Stop presenting stuff you FEEL to be true as fact, cause apart from being funny, it's kind of pathetic...

Nope, it's what you're doing and it's plain to see to everyone here.
