Ok I won't last long here if you don't get the site fixed, everyother time I post or refresh, can't get to the site, it doesn't respond, can't access. If this is how it's going to be I'm out of here. How the hell can you guys post to each other when 1/2 the time you can't access the site? At least PJ has that part down.
It's an acquired skill. Stick around and you too will learn to utilize the hell outta the other 50% of the time. lol jk, jk ...I know it's frustrating, but I do hope you'll give it a little more time.
Frustrating? Who's frustrated? Only today, I've been knocked off about 10 times and lost a new thread I'd been working on for an hour. Took me 10 min to post this msg. Newbie's right... we're all masochists.
Clear your browser cache that might help. If you are using IE be aware that it is a resource hog. Switch to Firefox or something that uses less resources.
Clearing the cache doesn't keep you from getting error msgs... and I've gotten a bunch of 'em today. "Are you sure you want to leave this page?" "Database Error" And of course the old standby: "You're not authorized to post on this forum unless you log in."
I use Firefox. I don't get the logoff errors. However, I see the "database error" and "Are you sure you want to leave this page?" frequently. Thank god for multi-tabbed browsing. Now I can click "post" and then browse another website while the "connecting" message churns away on PF's tab...
The 'Do You Want To Leave This Page' message comes up, I think, before the yellow 'autosave' has popped up. Your post hasn't been saved and it wants to make sure you want to leave the page. Just click 'yes', although you might have to click 'post' a few more times, then delete the duplicates! Frustrating, I know!
As my posts can sometimes take up to five minutes- or more- between hitting the ' Post Quick Reply ' button and the posts loading I'm assuming that there's a lag because they're being passed around for CIA vetting. When they load faster than that I assume it's because they're being vetted by some more nimble-minded operative. This suspicion is borne out by the Syllable Test. The inclusion of words with four or more syllables results in proportional delays.
