Not sure if I gave it the right term but the open carry bill here in Florida is being discussed. http://www.ammoland.com/2017/01/flo..._6f6fac3eaa-ecf18789b4-21101797#axzz4UpizxoQF I hope it passes.
Update: I just sent my 2 cents. Felt a bit guilty for not doing it earlier but better late than never.
It was supposed to be brothers and sisters, the generic form. In reality, only my dad and sister live in FL
We have open carry law in my swamplands. I only open carry away from the public. I'm not going into Wal Mart with a gun showing. I try to be the "gray man."
Even if the bill passes I'm not really into open carry myself (besides I'm a year too young to carry a firearm in the first place). I might do it occasionally to raise awareness and to see how does it feel.
I carried openly for a couple of days when it became legal last year just to raise awareness and celebrate. I only open carry at gas pumps in the middle of the night now. I prefer to not draw attention to myself, especially in crowded places. It's good to have the option and to take away the stigma of accidental exposure.
Depends on where you live and the people around you. Normally, I don't carry a gun on me, but have one seconds away at work and in my cars. I'll use one of my hideaway guns if I'm traveling or going into "Indian Country." If things ever got so bad that I had to carry one in a chaotic SHTF situation, then I'd want to wear my Level III plate carrier, and maybe carry a rifle.
My state allows open carry but I only do when a coat can cover it. Rather not draw attention to myself.
Any legislative win is great for gun rights. However if this becomes law, I will continue to carry concealed for tactical reasons.
I do have 3 military-type rifles to choose from---along with battle belts and so forth. Someone with a rifle and a 30 round magazine is going to be empty in less than 30 seconds if things get hot.
Indeed. I have a LBE setup with 8x30rd mags set and ready. I figure I'll be able to find more, or I'll be dead.
