I like 13 weeks, which is the standard of most of the world, but, this is FL choice. Girl's should insist that the guys who sleep with them keep them supplied with test kits and test twice a month. North Dakota adds fetal-development instruction requirement to public This is a beautifully done video. '“Baby Olivia,” an amazing animated video that walks through the development of an unborn baby, may be shown to public school students all across North Dakota next year.' 'Earlier this month, the North Dakota Legislature passed a law to require public schools to educate students about an unborn baby’s development as part of the sex education curriculum. Included is a requirement to show middle and high school students a short educational video about an unborn baby’s development, including his/her brain, heart and other vital organs early in pregnancy.'
republican are making it harder to get an abortion in 6 weeks and making it illegal to have after 6 weeks
Go read the op again. Not illegal after 6 weeks in certain cases. Why'd you feel the need to omit that part?
yes, and really all childbirth has health risks, so I guess the law is useless.. but they are trying to outlaw it next they will go after birth control and condoms
Gee gosh, all those 13, 14 year old girls going on North Dakota's Welfare program when they have kids !!! Yeh, now those Dakotans can WHINE about supporting more poor kids !!! ...and wonder why girls can't get jobs with only a 8th grade education...
It is not maximal statists' right to decide. Authoritarian womb control is opposed by freedom-loving Americans. That is apparent in poll after poll, and will continue to be reflected in elections. Unless and until viability is achieved during the gestative process, it is a private, personal matter for the girl/woman to decide with the advice of trusted medical and spiritual advisers and loved ones, rather than dictated to by impersonal, ideologically-driven politicians pandering to zealots. The womb control fanatics trying to override the FDA, medical expertise, and two decades of safe experience with Mifepristone is an unprecedented intrusion by Big Government.
The Libertarian Party is split on the issues of abortion and immigration, into two camps, a "Conservative Libertarian" and "Liberal Libertarian" faction. It is one of the reasons the Libertarian Party (as a whole) hasn't been able to make much headway into U.S. politics. On the Conservative side, they range from "I don't care", some preferring only moderate restrictions on abortion, to hardliners who want strict restrictions. I think though that immigration is a larger issue dividing the Libertarian Party than abortion.
Their 1.5 platform point is not abortion, it’s parental rights. This is their view on bodily autonomy. 1.1 Self-Ownership Individuals own their bodies and have rights over them that other individuals, groups, and governments may not violate. Individuals have the freedom and responsibility to decide what they knowingly and voluntarily consume, and what risks they accept to their own health, finances, safety, or life.
So a women should get the permission of the father prior to getting an abortion? Would this work the other way around as well? Does a woman need the permission of the father to have the baby, if he wants her to get an abortion? Men should not have any legal rights over women’s pregnancies. A woman does not need the permission of the ‘father’ in order to exercise a legal right and maintain autonomy over her body. There is a huge potential for abuse especially for men who want to control women in an abusive manner. If a women wishes to terminate a pregnancy and the father does not give permission, he is basically forcing an unwanted pregnancy on her. Men who suggest that a woman needs permission from the father to terminate a pregnancy generally do not have much respect for women.
Subjugation to the State in reproductive matters is rampant in the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Haiti, Honduras and Nicaragua. There are zealots in the United States, most rabid in the least-educated, retrogressive states, that are hellbent upon following their lead in abrogating personal freedom rather than allowing the democratic will to prevail.
It's their " women must be punished for having consensual sex by gestating that "precious life" but if WE decide it isn't so precious then it's OK with us if it's "murdered".
In YOUR opinion. You are correct; this does have a high chance of interfering with some women's LIFESTYLES. For a woman who just makes a one-time slip-up, however, she could probably pay very close attention, since that would be a very unusual uncommon situation for her, and would probably be able to terminate before 6 weeks. There are many things that a woman could do in a one-off situation that may not be so realistic when that situation is a normal routine part of her life. For example, a woman involved in an extramarital fling probably isn't going to have her uterus scanned every time she has intercourse. (Although technology is improving. Maybe in the future it will just become commonplace for women with vivaciously active sex lives to have a transvaginal ultrasound screening machine in their homes)
FoxHastings said: ↑ A 6 week limit is banning abortion. NO, it is not an opinion , it is a fact...many women don't even know if they're pregnant at 6 weeks.... FoxHastings said: ↑ It's their (Anti-Choicers) " women must be punished for having consensual sex I am correct that punishing women for having consensual sex is sick and misogynistic. LOL, I'm not even going to try and sort out that jumble of crap....just more misogyny and attempt to control women as if they were animals...
So you do believe that everyone involved concerning her sex act and subsequent abortion should have to consent? Why did you emphasize consensual sex, if not to recognize that the rights to some forms of sex can be curtailed?
If pregnancy was infectious, there would be birth control mandates (especially if men could catch it).
FoxHastings said: ↑ I am correct that punishing women for having consensual sex is sick and misogynistic. What?! What a nonsensical and illogical conclusion... I can't believe you don't know what consensual sex is !!!! WOW! I emphasized consensual sex because Anti-Choicers want to punish women for having consensual sex by banning abortion....this is PROVEN by the fact that would make exceptions in the case of rape.
?? I think you are confused. There is ONE person who has the right - the woman who is pregnant. She is the one who knows whether the sex was consensual. She is the one who determines the care for her body. This is not some sort of hole that allows others to get involved by force of law.
