And why has There not been more action on this from the White House? Where are the plans to fix the problem?
Another indication Federal, State, City and town governments need to cut the benefits of all civil servants. They are far more generous than anything in the private sector. Those paying the taxes have nothing compared to what they are currently giving THEIR EMPLOYEES !!!
Would he? Or would he just need to set up a commission to look into policing You know the sort of thing Obama did
I doubt that he will. The blue flu will continue. The problem is that the problem does not lie solely with the police. We have too many people like Kaepernick who are sending out the wrong message. And that message is that all policeman are bad. As a result, too many refuse to comply with what the police order with bad results. I wonder how many deaths Kaepernick caused. Or for that matter, how many due to the attitude of people like in this forum. Just reforming the police will not solve the problem. Unless you are proposing the police quit enforcing the law.
Actually I have a different take Too many guns means you are in a civil war that is escalating Here we fire a policeman who pulls a gun when pulling over a driver for speeding. If someone is shot then there is ALWAYS an investigation That does not mean we have got it right - plenty of issues around racial profiling and deaths in custody (mostly suicides but still deaths) but it does mean that our police will choose a less lethal option FIRST
There was no riot to hide in a bunker from. "The Obamas join hands with Rep. John Lewis as they lead the walk across the Edmund Pettus Bridge to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Bloody Sunday and the Selma to Montgomery civil rights marches in Selma, Alabama, on March 7, 2015. Malia and Sasha Obama join hands with their grandmother, Marian Robinson."
Having nuanced opinion is difficult for partisans to understand, but, trust me, there are people who can have opinions that mesh with both sides, because each side has its' own version of insanity. They take turns being in first place on that, but they both do it. Pfft. Have you seen the one where Trump is entirely disrespectful during the national anthem, pretends to conduct it, eyes wandering around the room, and then he pulls out his chair and sits down? Prolly not, or, if you have, you have some sort of justification for his acting like an ass during the national anthem. At least his wife tried to put her hand over her heart. She didn't succeed, but she did try, at least.
I knew you'd have a reason to think it was okay for Trump to disrespect our anthem. Thanks for not disappointing! So predictable; I love it!
I am not talking about disrespect for the flag. I am talking about Kaepernick showing his disrespect for the police which taught young black youths that they should also show disrespect for the police. I don't approve of what Trump did, but I doubt that it resulted in any deaths. I am convinced that Kaepernick's actions did result in young black deaths.
You were comparing this to Trump hiding in a bunker. There was no reason for Obama to hide. It was a friendly crowd walking across a bridge commemorating an event that occurred decades ago.
Obama or Trump walking across a bridge would not have prevented Floyd's death and the resulting riots.
