Former GOP spokesman comes out, pushes for same-sex marriage

It's good to learn that there are more and more people in high positions within the GOP that are either coming out or sympathetic to the Gay cause. This former spokesman for Republicans wants to be able to marry his male partner and is telling the GOP about it. He's come out as a strong advocate for same-sex marriage within the GOP. That takes good courage and a will to enlighten those who are so opposed to Gay marriage in that political party. And a former chair of the RNC also came out who used to work for President George W. Bush so it sure appears that this type of thing is trending in the GOP in a day and age of better tolerance towards LGBT citizens.

    Worth quoting from the article

CNN) -- He is gay. He's a Republican. He wants to get married.
During his time as a spokesperson for the Republican Party and GOP candidates, James Richardson noted that "never once did I write that I am gay."
That changed with the publication of a column by Richardson in Thursday's Washington Post that openly proclaims his sexuality.
Despite being a member and former spokesman for a party that doesn't support what he so badly desires -- to marry his same sex partner -- Richardson is committed to the GOP and committed to changing the party's views on the issue.

You would be surprised at the number of gay people that support the main principals of conservatism but do not support the social / religious control that they demand. Many cannot vote for a party that actively condemns them.

I have a feeling we are on the verge of a huge policy shift in the Republican Party.
