Has any one seen it? I watched it tonight. It was supposed to be hilarious but tbh it just wasn't, I didn't laugh. I kinda smiled occasionally but it just seemed absurd rather than funny. Has anyone else seen it? Did you enjoy it?
I loved it. It is both sad and funny. It's absurd, too. But it makes a lot of sense. Two thumbs up from me
No it was great and I found it incredibly sad, I guess that for something billed as a great british comedy I expected it to be funnier? It was thought provoking and had some wonderfully memorable moments. The protest at the debate is something that will stay with me.
Perhaps it's a comic tragedy. I first found some of the characters caricatural and downright funny. The sadness of it all started to enter my mind during the movie and peaked at the end. It's very well played. I saw it many months ago however, so I don't recall it in details. I will surely watch it again soon, but it'd be nice of you to relate the scene with the protest at the debate here, and help revive it
A debate that seems to be between a community activist, a government minister/politician and the white convert fanatic. A young muslim stands up and complains about stereotyping. "Just because I'm muslim I must be a suicide bomber if youse treat me like that why shouldn't I just be one."* Opens his coat, there is a bomb belt. He raps about jihad. Shouts Allah Akbar. Pulls the trigger and showers himself in confetti. That was brilliant. *Dreadfully paraphrasing all errors my own but as I remember it. As an aside now that I have typed Jihad and Allah Akbar in the tread what's the betting that the views shoot up?
