The 2010 move to ban the burqa in France was justified because it covered the face. Meaning all forms of face covering should be included, from motorcycle helmets with a visor, to a Halloween mask, right? Then in 2020, it became mandatory to cover up your face because of Covid-19 https://www.cbsnews.com/news/france-burqa-ban-islamic-face-coverings-masks-mandatory/ unless it's with a burqa.
It's partly why I accuse Europe of being culturally backwards... France is one of the EU's more prosperous countries even, yet has a 2nd class based on ethnicity 'the Roma' and it doesn't even recognise minorities. I only support France's move in the sense that it makes the Anglosphere with our rights of minorities look good, but really, I think it's a horrible thing and when it comes down to it, Europe on the most part is either a boring field where the Belgians bet on cows defecating or is poor as **** with no money or liberties. France is one of the more tolerant countries, along with NL, and these people can be pretty xenophobic outside of the touristy areas. Don't even want to go to NL for Christmas, too racist imo. So if I ever did become Dutch for some reason to retain access to the EU, I'd be back in London during that whole Dutch Christmas for my own peace of mind, and just culturally and where I come from.
